When it is a mangrove planting day, we enjoy a mud bath. Switch off from the office and normal busy schedule, remove the boots and just be at the bottom of the ocean enjoying the breeze and the warm mud. It's a beautiful feeling.

The value of a mangrove forest

Carbon is being held in trees and deep coastal soils. Young marine species are finding food and shelter among tangled roots. Waves are losing energy before they reach homes and communities.

These benefits are closely connected. Protecting mangroves keeps these functions working together, storing carbon, sustaining marine life and reducing coastal risk.
