Mathare river Mathare river is a project and research about agriculture, water and waste management in the slum of Mathare.

“Mathare river” is the river that runs through Mathare which is the area of interest of this project started in 2012 as thesis research for Politecnico di Milano university and Liveinslums NGO. The Mathare River research sees agriculture, water and waste management as fundamental areas of intervention for an environmental regeneration of the slum Mathare. After the first pilot project, completed i

n 2013 with Liveinslums NGO, today the research is continuing to enrich its contents looking forward to realise new environmental projects in Mathare.
