"CYEN-Korogocho (children and Youths Empowerment Network)" “Creating a safer community through children and youth empowerment” It was formed and is run as a partnership between the Youths and the adults in the slums.

The Children and Youths Empowerment Network (CYEN-Korogocho) is a community based organization (CBO) based in Korogocho, Kenya. The organization was formed on July 2009 and got registered on January 29th 2010 under the Ministry of Gender and Social Services. Like most developing country urban slums, Korogocho suffers from a myriad of socio-economical problems like crime, extreme poverty, abuse of drugs, unemployment, alcoholism and many other social developmental ills.
