El Sistema Kenya

El Sistema Kenya Inspired by El Sistema in Venezuela, El Sistema Kenya is a youth music project targeting underserved communities in Kenya's Kawangware slums.

El Sistema has proven to be incredibly successful at using classical music to help children and young people change their lives, grasp opportunity, and grow into exceptional adults. We launched East Africa's first daily El Sistema program in Kenya's Kawangware slum and have a second location in Juja. We already have local partnerships that have donated space, and 1,500 children interested through

local schools. Currently, we are looking for instruments and funding in order to move forward with the project. We are currently teaching over 100 students and are hoping to bring more into the project in the near future. You can help by contacting us at [email protected]

Our Story

El Sistema has proven to be incredibly successful at using classical music to help children and young people change their lives, grasp opportunity, and grow into exceptional adults. We launched East Africa's first daily El Sistema program in Kenya's Kawangware slum and have two other locations in Juja and Waithaka. We have made local partnerships that have donated space, and have over 1,500 children interested in joining our program! Currently, we are looking for instruments and funding in order to continue growing and making an impact on the Kenyan community. We are currently teaching over 200 students and are hoping to bring more into the project in the near future. You can help by contacting us at [email protected] or sending us a Facebook message.
