For two impactful weeks, Uwezo was honored to host a transformative students’ mentorship program at Uwezo office premises, facilitated by Johannes and Gisela. Through interactive sessions on Identity, Communication,Spiritual nourishment and Personal growth, our students were empowered to discover their purpose, strengthen their confidence, and build life skills for the future.The students had a great time interacting together,playing indoor games and everyday had a warm cup of tea and a snack.The program concluded with fellowship, one-on-one guidance, and a shared meal — a beautiful reminder that mentorship goes beyond learning; it builds family and hope for tomorrow.

🌟 Meet Nancy – A Story of Faith, Patience, and Purpose 🌟

Nancy is a beautiful and determined 20-year-old young woman in the Uwezo Sponsorship Program. She comes from a very humble background and joined Uwezo at just 9 years old. Through the years, Nancy has shown resilience, hard work, and a never-give-up spirit.

After high school, she earned a good grade and was invited to join university, but her heart was set on becoming a nurse. While others moved on, Nancy patiently waited for two years, applying to KMTC without success—yet she never lost hope. Finally, her dream came true when she received her admission to medical college. Today, she is in her second year, proudly pursuing her calling in nursing.

Beyond academics, Nancy is a talented gymnast who courageously showcases her skills whenever given the opportunity. In 2025, she performed at a county public event and even had the honor of shaking hands with the Women Leader. Last year, she was also voted Best Upcoming Female Nominee and received an award.

Nancy's story encourages us in Uwezo to continue touching the lives of Children as God enables and watch with Joy as the tranformation takes place.

Nancy’s journey is a powerful reminder that dreams delayed are not dreams denied,and determination knows no barrier. #

Mentorship and discipleship play a powerful role in shaping the hearts, minds, and future of young people. This past week, Uwezo held a life-changing one-week mentorship program for children and teens, creating a safe space where they were guided, taught, encouraged, and grounded in values that build character and hope.
We celebrate the impact made and thank God for the opportunity to invest in the next generation.

We are grateful to God for two wonderful years of service and impact in Uwezo Chongewa Hospital! To mark this milestone, the hospital held free medical camps offering check-ups for Blood pressure, Diabetes, Ultrasound, Dental care, and Children’s vaccinations and Jiggers treatment and many other medical checkups.

Patients not only received physical care but also spiritual nourishment as the Word of God was shared, reminding all of God’s love and healing power. The celebration ended with a joyful fellowship meal shared together.

🌟 Mentorship program 🌟
Mentorship is a powerful gift in a child’s life. It provides guidance, encouragement, and positive role models who walk alongside children as they discover their talents and dreams. Through mentorship, children gain confidence, learn important life skills, and are reminded that they are valued and capable of greatness. Uwezo Nairobi and Elgon held a one week Mentorship program for Children. We had over 300 Children attending the Mentorship Program in Nairobi and Elgon.
