1 Hope House provides a home-away-from-home for families travelling long distances, where children and their caregivers can find comfort, nourishment, emotional support and the reassurance of being closer to the care they need.

Every room, every meal, every moment of care is part of a bigger mission; to make the cancer journey a little less difficult for children and their families.

In one of our recent Art Therapy Sessions, the children spent time painting flowers and leaves (using actual leaves in some of their creations), choosing multiple colours, creating freely and turning a simple canvas into something uniquely their own. 🌿🎨

These moments are always about more than art. Spending time with these lovely children reinforces why this work remains so important and why we remain committed to walking alongside them and their families. 💛

Some of these beautiful pieces also go on to become part of our fundraising efforts, helping us raise resources to support the very children who created them, as well as other children and families on their cancer journey.

At Hope for Cancer Kids, we support children and families through some of the financial, practical and emotional challenges that come with childhood cancer.

From helping families access treatment and travel for care, to creating moments of expression and joy through Art Therapy, every programme is designed to surround children and their families with the support they need.

One of the many reasons we do this. 💛

During one of our recent Art Therapy Sessions at Kenyatta National Hospital – Ward 1E, the children transformed the letters of their names into words that reflected who they are, how they were feeling, and the qualities they see in themselves.

Not who cancer says they are.

But who they choose to be.

Every Thursday, we’re reminded that healing isn’t only physical. Through creativity, connection and self-expression, children are given the space to simply be children, and that is why we do what we do.

A new month, with the same mission at heart. As we begin the countdown to September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re taking a moment to reflect on why we do what we do.💛

Every child deserves hope. Every family deserves support. Every act of kindness has the power to make a difference.

Throughout August, we’ll be sharing more about the heart of Hope for Cancer Kids, our mission, our programmes, the incredible people behind them, and the many ways you can be part of this journey.

Because creating hope isn’t reserved for one day or one event. It’s something we build together, every single day.

Every Thursday, we gather at Ward 1E, Kenyatta National Hospital, for our Art Therapy sessions. This time, SuhaniMara made it an extra special one. 💛🎗️

These afternoons are about so much more than art. They create moments where children can laugh, explore something new, build friendships, and simply enjoy being children in the middle of treatment.

Beyond leading a beautiful beading workshop, the SuhaniMara team also came bearing thoughtful gifts for the children and their caregivers, including art supplies, fruits, yoghurt, milk, and other essentials. Their generosity turned an ordinary Thursday into a day to be remembered. 💛

Thank you for sharing your time, your hearts, and your kindness with our little warriors. It is through partnerships like these that hope continues to grow…one child, one smile, and one Thursday at a time. 💛

Some of the beautiful creations from SuhaniMara’s Beaded Workshop during our Art Therapy Thursday sessions. 💛 As the kids created their bracelets and necklaces, the children also discovered that every bead has a story.

They explored beads from different parts of the world, learning about the cultures, traditions, and journeys behind them, turning a creative afternoon into a little lesson in geography, history, and storytelling.

Thank you once again to SuhaniMara for sharing not just the art of beading, but the stories woven into every bead. Here’s to many more afternoons of learning, creating, and discovering together. 💛
