For Hilda Wairimū Karanja, witnessing a classmate become a mother at just 16 years old was a turning point. It exposed the realities of teenage pregnancy and inspired her to create lasting solutions for young people in her community.

💛 Through KIJANA SMART, Hilda is tackling teenage pregnancy in Kiambu by empowering adolescents with education, mentorship, and essential life skills. Her mission is to ensure that every young person has the knowledge, confidence, and support to make informed decisions about their future.🌱

Today's board room mentorship session with Mugo Kibati really inspired us to reflect on our thoughts and reasoning.
Mugo Kibati urged participants to develop the ability to distinguish authentic, unbiased information from misinformation and disinformation. He further called on the youth to return to fundamental thinking and to cultivate a genuine sense of vision, particularly within the political sphere, identifying this as a critical gap in current youth engagement.

✨ The future of STEM is brighter when more girls are empowered to dream, build, and lead.

As a 5th-year Engineering student, Mary Mutunga understands the importance of representation in STEM. Seeing the limited opportunities for girls in science and engineering inspired her to take action.

Through Mukuru STEM Flames and its flagship programme, Girls Ignite STEM, Mary is mentoring young girls in Mukuru Kwa Ruben, introducing them to engineering, hands-on problem-solving, and leadership. 🚀🔬👩🏽‍🔬

She believes that every girl deserves the opportunity to discover her potential and pursue a future without limits.
