Today, March 30th, is the International Day of Zero Waste, a UN-designated day to promote sustainable consumption and production patterns and highlight the importance of improving global waste management. The 2025 theme is "Towards Zero Waste in Fashion and Textiles."

At Jenga IT Sustainability, reusing and recycling are central to how we create, innovate, and elevate. Visit the Bazaar + exhibition to explore the various ways our cohort is aligning with the zero-waste movement.

Meet , who uses natural materials to create hand-printed tote bags, cotton, recycled paper for her "Corals Under the Ocean" installation, and upcycled fabric sourced from Nairobi Textile to make colorful dolls inspired by aquatic animals.

In her words....
"My creative process focuses on appreciating and preserving our heritage through minimal waste and effective waste management. My work serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between tradition and modernity, urging communities to embrace sustainability while honoring their roots."

Also on display is Ricky Bags Africa, a social enterprise dedicated to transforming waste into high-quality, stylish bags. Using upcycled materials like billboards, banners, leather scraps, and canvas, their products are eco-friendly and tell powerful stories of creativity.
