East Africa Women of Excellence Awards

It was an honour to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Dr. Ida Betty Odinga, EGH, and to present her with a special birthday gift courtesy of Taita Gems.

Our meeting provided an opportunity for meaningful and fruitful discussions on the preparations for the 2027 East Africa Women of Excellence Awards & Conference, and the important role H.E. Ambassador Dr. Ida Odinga is expected to play.

Her Excellency’s distinguished journey of leadership, advocacy, mentorship and unwavering commitment to the advancement of women brings a depth of experience that will be invaluable as we continue to shape a platform that celebrates women who are creating impact and transforming communities.

We discussed the importance of creating greater opportunities for women to lead, influence, innovate and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s socio-economic transformation.

The East Africa Women of Excellence Awards & Conference is not merely an awards platform. It is a movement to recognise excellence, celebrate impact, amplify women’s voices and inspire the next generation of African women leaders.

As we look towards 2027 we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to engage with a woman whose decades of service and commitment to women’s empowerment continue to inspire.

Our sincere gratitude to the incredible women leaders who shared their journeys and poured wisdom into the next generation.

A woman can wake up, get the kids ready for school/daycare, drop them off, head to work, walk in with the hugest smile on her face, get the day’s work completed, get off, pick the kids up, cook dinner, get the kids ready for bed, all while going through one of the worst times in her life... if that isn’t strength, I don’t what it is.

Women are truly phenomenal. Happy International Women’s Day to all amazing women out there.
