As Street Talent Africa we recently held a recruitment for young people who would love to learn theatre and it was awesome. A good number came thru' and currently we are having our training at Dagoretti South Empowerment Center two days weekly.

We have started with basic theatrical moves. Out training is extensive because we are imparting the beneficiaries with skills that will help them have a more active life. This is acting as a way of life. One of the definition of acting is that Acting is the study of human nature.

The skills that they will learn will help them grow self confidence, be assertive, embrace healthy postures, articulacy. public speaking, theatrical performance, negotiation, communication, and self- love

This is under one of our strategic pillar that is talent development, promotion of innovation, and creativity.

Let's be the change we want to see!

Finally last week she visited Dagoretti South!

We will be letting you know how we got to know this amazing person and our first day engagement in person with her. What we agreed to do for our community.

Oooh my she is a super rider of the power super motorbikes.

An enigma!

A person of rare systems of life. An adventurer and a lover of life. A professor of her art and a blue print of women game changers.

She does it differently. A normal woman will think of enjoying life in Diani beach and a flight to Hawaii while for her she delves deep in the outskirts of the dry lands, the thick forests, the mashy lands, and the rough mountains.

She has managed to challenge the believe of the infamous " mtu wetu" toxic vibe

She converses with people not of her culture, with words not of her tongue, and eats foods not of her culture. She is curious about life, she wants to learn more of how the underprivileged communities go about their normal lives.

I tell you she is in for a lesson and how she can be part of the solution.

She is a friend of Street Talent Africa and we are partnering with her on a project we began last year called Mentrual Mental Voice which focuses on the issues of mental health that affects teen girls during menstruation period. We are not leaving the boy child behind because we believe that there is no empowering the girl child without considering the boy child child

Happy New Year 2025

Community Development is our business!

Today we held our first meeting to strategise on how we are going to implement our projects this year.

Last year we had a very busy engagement with the community that we serve and our partners as mentioned below

Also friends of Street Talent Africa Organization

And others that we can cannot mention here

We were able to implement initiatives on Talent development, Mental and Menstrual Health, Environment Conservation, Gender Equality, leadership, awareness on drugs abuse, early marriages, children rights, youth participation on good governance on civic engagement arena.

We were able to start sustainable environment change clubs in schools and much more.

This year we plan to expand the initiative to be on a big platform

We plan to engage our partners as early as possible on the following initiatives

1. Menstrual Mental Voice
2. My Tree, My Education Mazingira Bora Campaign
3. Ajibika Youth Festival
4. Rada Initiative

We wish to invite every person or organization of good will to partner with us and make it a success.

The story of creating a resilient community in the conservation of our environment.

My Tree!
My Education!
Mazingira Bora Campaign is an itiniative that aims to promote a culture of environmental conservation. On May 8th 2024 the government led by His Excellency the President Of The Republic Of Kenya Launched a campaign to plant and 15.billion tree by the year 2032.

This was just a direct which is a synonym of an order from above. We believe that to make this a reality you must we must create a purpose for it, making the community is understand the value of taking this Noble course.

In this light My Tree My Education Mazingira Bora Campaign is running in schools and in community. The initiative aims to challenge students and community members to adapt trees as their children, name them with their last name, research on the advantages and the disadvantages of the trees and the impact the tree has on matters reduction of of greenhouse gases. How the trees supports life and food production and the wer trees have in determining the seasons of our climate.

The initiave have seen the growth of environmental champions in Ndurarua High School in Dagoretti South Nairobi. We have a club of almost a hundred environment champions students and they have really grown to see their adopted children bring a positive impact in our community. The initiative has also encouraged the champions to research on the global climate conversations and Bodies like COP. They are also linking the global climate and local climate action.

After going thru challenges we got to apply for climate change funding from Slum Dwellers International - SDI. understand Muungano wa Wanavijiji called next level Grant and it was successful.

We have already done phase one and now we are preparing for reporting then receive phase two the final phase.

Thank you SDI for your support. The clubs will grow bigger, better, and stable
