Meet Mariah, one of our soprano soloists in the upcoming concert.

'As the Heart Pants' is a choral work by Felix Mendelssohn that's based on the 42nd Psalm. Mendelssohn himself describes it as “my best sacred piece…"and " a work I hold in greater regard than most of my other compositions.”

The Nairobi Music society accompanied by the Nairobi will be performing this, alongside other works this weekend at the All Saints Cathedral. See you there.

Composed in 1954 as one of Gerald Finzi's last pieces, In Terra Pax is a radiant, optimistic work of great beauty and sincerity; a miniature masterpiece that unites emotions, images and the familiar events of the Christmas story into a compelling musical narrative that is at once personal yet universal.

It consists of two parts, “A Frosty Christmas Eve” and “Lo, the Angel of the Lord Came Upon Them.”

Come watch a performance of this and many wonderful pieces by the Nairobi Music Society, accompanied by the Nairobi Orchestra.
