ACCOSCA ACADEMY – NAIROBI, 23 SEPTEMBER 2026 (ACCOSCA) - His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Andrew Onalenna Sesinyi, High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana to the Republic of Kenya, paid a distinguished courtesy visit to the ACCOSCA Head of Mission at the ACCOSCA Academy.

The high-level diplomatic engagement provided an opportunity to reaffirm the valued partnership between ACCOSCA and the Republic of Botswana, with discussions centred on deepening institutional collaboration, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and advancing shared priorities for the sustainable growth and transformation of Africa’s cooperative movement.

His Excellency was accompanied by Ms. Shale Kgopodiso Mosinki, Minister Counsellor at the High Commission of the Republic of Botswana.

KUALA LUMPUR – MALAYSIA, 14 SEPTEMBER 2026 (ACCOSCA) The Asian cooperative movement continues to play an active role in advancing the global cooperative landscape, offering invaluable lessons and opportunities for Africa to learn and strengthen its own cooperative movement through strategic partnerships and purposeful collaboration.

Over the past 7 days, ACCOSCA, in close collaboration with its strategic partner, the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions Accu Thailand, has undertaken an immersive Learn and Share initiative in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Participants had a rare engagement with Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan (M) Bhd - ANGKASA, Malaysia’s national cooperative apex body, where they had a front- row insights into ANGKASA’s longstanding cooperative development model and its role in strengthening cooperative enterprises and contributing to national economic development.

The African delegation also had the privilege of joining the global credit union community at the Asian Credit Union Forum 2026, organised by Accu Thailand under the theme, “Overcoming Unspoken Realities: The Transformation & Resilience Era 2026.”

The Forum provided a valuable platform for reflection on the future, transformation and resilience of credit unions globally.

On the sidelines of the Forum, the delegation visited leading Malaysian cooperative institutions, including the Malaysia Cooperative Societies Commission, Setiausaha Kursus Institut Koperasi Malaysia, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad, among others. These engagements offered practical insights into cooperative governance and institutional development.

ACCOSCA extends its sincere appreciation to Accu Thailand, under the leadership of Pol. Maj. Gen. Danukrit Kalampakorn, ACCU Thailand President, and Elenita V. San Roque, Chief Executive Officer, for the warm hospitality and invaluable opportunity for the African delegation to experience and learn from Malaysia’s rich cooperative ecosystem.

CANCÚN, MEXICO, 7 SEPTEMBER 2026 (ACCOSCA) – Guided by its Strategic Plan, ACCOSCA continues to champion collaboration with strategic global cooperative institutions to spur sustainable growth within the African cooperative movement.

George Ombado, Head of Mission at ACCOSCA, led a delegation of cooperative leaders representing the African cooperative movement at the 2026 Proxfin Annual General Meeting in Cancún, Mexico: hosted by the Confederación Mexicana de Cajas Populares (CONCAMEX) and coincided with the 75th anniversary of Mexico’s cooperative financial movement.

The high-level engagement provided a pivotal platform for ACCOSCA to strengthen global cooperation, exchange knowledge and explore strategic opportunities aimed at advancing financial inclusion, economic empowerment and sustainable development across the cooperative movement.

On the sidelines of the AGM, the African delegation held consultative engagements with Gerardo Almaguer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Développement international Desjardins - DID, and Lisa Baillargeon, Chair and Director at Desjardins International Development, focusing on strengthening areas of collaboration and advancing the Africa Cooperative Climate Action Plan.

In Attendance was David Mategwa, Vice Chairperson of ACCOSCA, Cyprian Basing, CEO of Ghana Cooperative Credit Unions Association and Grace Watsiera – Executive Director of ACDF, who both serve at the Proxfin Management Committee.

Through strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange and purposeful collaboration, ACCOSCA remains committed to implementing its Strategic Plan and connecting Africa’s cooperative movement to international expertise and opportunities that strengthen sustainable growth.
