The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya was inaugurated by 44 founding members on 17th April 1969 and subsequently registered on 12th August 1969 as a body corporate under the Societies Act. The ISK logo was registered on 20th December 1969 as a "Coat of Arms" or "Grant of Arms" under the College of Arms Act. The logo contains the motto ‘kupima na kukadiria’ (to measure and estimate).

ISK is participating at the 5th Regional Research Conference organized by the National Land Commission (NLC) under the theme “Strengthening Land Governance for Sustainable National Economic Development.” The conference is being held for two days from 19th – 20th August 2026, at the Kenya School of Government, Kabete, and provides a platform to share research, exchange knowledge and develop practical, evidence-based solutions that can strengthen land governance.

Representing ISK is CEO Peter Kibet arap Biwott, who also delivered a speech on behalf of ISK’s President Eric Nyadimo.
