ve life and bring development in the region by undertaking several projects that has been beneficial and it is still beneficial to the community.NASCOD was set up to encourage action on sustainable activities to facilitate development in Northern Kenya. Local communities in Northern Kenya felt they did not have the level of education needed to about community developmental activities since the region is full of illiteracy rate especially among elderly men and women and NASCOD managed to work together with the residence and with their communities in order to draw up realistic plans for the future of their areas. NASCOD on the activities of local communities in different counties, locations and sub-locations.Sustainable development is essentially about creating sustainable communities as local organiztion is one of the statutory authorities that has a significant presense within a wide range of communities; social, business, political and partnership delivery. This is why NASCOD have an important role in helping to create communities that are based on the principles of sustainable development. In order to help the community embed these principles at the core of their own corportate structure, NASOD can provide a variety of help and support, including training programmes on prevention of HIV/AIDS, FGM, our staff and partners guidance publications and practical support to help them develop their own Sustainable Development Implementation Plans. We encourage sustainable development thinking and action primarily within district council and the community and voluntary sector. The Sustainable Development Strategy for NASCOD means that many of Sustainable future activities will involve helping local community and others to implement sustainable development in their areas.
