Through the partnership of YAC nairobi and sport for health in dagoretti Sports they are creating healthier futures for adolescents!
The energy was high at the Inter-Schools Volleyball Bonanza in Dagoretti South, where adolescents came together for a day of sports, learning, and empowerment.
As part of Amref Health Africa in Kenya Centre Court Africa Project, the event used sport as a platform to engage adolescents with age-appropriate information on sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and overall health and wellbeing. Through interactive sessions led by trained peer educators, adolescents received accurate health information, learned about available adolescent-friendly health services, and were able to access on-site health services, making the event a truly holistic experience that combined sports, health education, and service delivery in one safe and youth-friendly space.
We appreciate the invaluable support of the Dagoretti South Sub-County Health Management Team, whose collaboration was instrumental in delivering integrated, adolescent-responsive services throughout the event.
At the Nairobi County Youth Advisory Panel, we believe that creating spaces where adolescents can play, learn, and access essential health services is key to supporting healthier, informed, and empowered communities.
