Earlier this week, our Executive Director, joined a panel discussion at Y254 a KBC Channel 1 TV youth channel to discuss youth engagement in the Internet Governance and share some of the recommendations from the Kenya and East Africa IGFs ahead of the African IGF scheduled to happen next month in Addis Ababa. Our ED, doubles up as the coordinator for the Kenya and Africa Youth IGFs, a platform for youth engagement in the Internet Governance ecosystem.

At the Recently concluded East Africa Internet Governance Forum that was held in Kampala, Uganda, The African Centre for Climate Research and Innovations - ACCRI hosted a side session titled; The green tech revolution: multistakeholderism for a sustainable climate action.

The session interrogated the climate action and tech nexus and explored on ways tech stakeholders can contribute to the sustainable use of tech and the need to promote green tech.

We were pleased to join the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, The African Union and African Development Bank Group over the last 4 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the 10th Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, under the theme "Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want, of the African Union and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions."

The ARFSD-10 is a timely opportunity to address shortcomings and capitalize on emerging opportunities to ensure robust, accelerated and timely implementation of the SDGs and Agenda 2063. The Forum will also mobilize effective Africa engagement in the Summit of the Future to be held in September 2024 and generate Africa’s priorities and inputs to the Summit.

In our participation, we highlighted on various session how climate resilience, Adaptation and investment is central in achieving both Agendas 2030 and 2063. We demonstrated the role of technology and innovation in addressing the impact of climate in Africa but most importantly tech as a driver to accelerate actions to realise Agenda 2030.

Girls in ICT Day reminds us that ICTs help to improve the lives of people everywhere – through better health care, better environmental management, better communications, and better educational systems that transform the way children and adults learn.

To achieve full, equal and meaningful participation in ICT, young women and girls must have equal opportunities to learn digital skills and technology fundamentals, and accessible and quality education in ICT from an early age.

Last week, ACCRI's Executive Director, Mr. Keith ANDERE joined primates, archbishops Bishops and other religious leaders drawn from 26 African countries under the umbrella of the All Africa Conference of Churches on a hight level dialogue on understanding population dynamics and demographic dividends.

The meeting that was held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia was held under the theme " Sociological and Theological reflection on Growth and "

Mr. Andere made a presentation on "The Impact of on " Highlighting the negative impact of climate on Africa's Agriculture, Health, Education, Migration, Peace and Security, Water scarcity and the peoples livelihood. He also dived in with some recommendations on the role of the church and religious leaders in advancing in their communities.
