Today, in the heart of Homa Bay; the county of endless potential, we came together in solemn unity to stand with our dear comrade Jennifer Wendy during this profoundly difficult time. Alongside her family, colleagues, and friends, we gathered to lay to rest her beloved sister, Jackline Anganyi.

In moments like these, words often fall short, yet our presence speaks of shared grief, compassion, and unwavering support. Jackline’s passing is a deep loss, not only to her family but to all who knew and cherished her.

May you, Wendy, and your entire family find strength in the love that surrounds you, comfort in the memories you hold dear, and peace in knowing that you are not alone in your sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers remain with you as you navigate this painful journey.

May Jackline rest in eternal peace, and may her light continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Go well Mama Pendo

Friday Vibes | Day 5 – Youth SDGs Week 2026

We successfully concluded an impactful and inspiring Youth SDGs Week 2026, closing on a high note with a strong focus on Partnerships for Impact and collective responsibility in accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals.

The day began with an engaging Registration & SDG Exhibition Walkthrough, where youth-led innovations and community-driven solutions were showcased: demonstrating the power of young people as catalysts for sustainable change. This was followed by a reflective recap of Day 4, centered on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which highlighted the importance of inclusive systems and accountability as foundations for progress.

As we transitioned into today’s theme, discussions emphasized that achieving the SDGs is not the responsibility of a few, but a shared mission that requires collaboration across sectors, communities, and generations. The conversations reinforced that meaningful impact is only possible when we intentionally build and sustain partnerships grounded in trust, inclusivity, and action.

We later held a thought-provoking Mental Health Panel Discussion, bringing to light the often-overlooked intersection between youth well-being and sustainable development. The session underscored the urgency of prioritizing mental health as a key pillar in empowering young people to actively participate in development spaces.

Despite the challenges; especially in mobilizing resources, the commitment on the ground remained evident. Even with limited facilitation, a dedicated group of participants showed up, engaged, and contributed meaningfully. This speaks to the resilience and determination that continues to drive this movement forward.

As we wrapped up the week, we did not just close a series of activities; we solidified resolutions and commitments aimed at accelerating SDG implementation within our communities and at the policy level. The energy, ideas, and collaborations built throughout the week now set the stage for sustained action beyond this platform.

This is not the end, it is a renewed beginning.
