Listen to this Equals Hope’s episode! Beyond Growth: Can We End Poverty Without GDP?

We've been told economic growth will solve poverty. But after decades of growth...poverty persists, inequality keeps rising and climate crisis is getting worse.

This week, UN poverty expert Olivier De Schutter explains why it's time to rethink how we measure progress and how we can build economies that put people before profits.

This is part 1 of our two-part series exploring bold alternatives for a more equal and sustainable future. Coming up next is we will be exploring the bold Global Justice Report from World Inequality Lab.

Climate finance is one of the world's most important climate commitments. When it's overstated, it's not just a numerical discrepancy. Communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis are affected.

For years, wealthy countries have pointed to progress on their climate finance commitments. But our latest calculations find that the picture is far less encouraging. READ: "World Humanitarian Day is about remembering all humanitarian workers who lost their lives while caring for others.

But remembrance without accountability and action becomes a tolerance of the unjustifiable. We must do better" - Amitabh Behar, Executive Director, Oxfam International

On World Humanitarian Day, we honour humanitarian workers everywhere, and the courage and sacrifices they make every day to help others. We stand in solidarity with our staff and partners on the frontlines, often working at immense personal risk, and urge governments to uphold their obligations to protect them.
