It is a campaign by young individuals who are committed to taking strategic action to mobilize the youth as well as the private sector, to address the issue of death by starvation. OBJECTIVES
Our primary goal is to preserve the sanctity of life, by collecting and distributing food
and other essential commodities such as water and basic medical supplies. We appreciate
that several Samburu people ar
e on the brink of death, thus we hope to accomplish this
onerous yet achievable task, within the coming weeks. On the one hand, Wananchi Against Hunger shall
endeavour to alleviate the Samburu people’s deep sense of resignation, and assist them
take self-reliant action. Like ongoing projects in Turkana, we will facilitate the process of
helping them accept that pastoralism is no longer a viable option under the circumstances,
and teach them various farming methods suitable for arid areas. On the other hand, we shall reach out to the middle class sector to lobby government to
take collective responsibility for the electorate. We call forth commitment from every
individual, to advocate for a transparent and accountable government that will oversee a
sustainable food programme for generations to come.
