We are pleased to have been part of ICoNE Nairobi, a key platform bringing together global and regional stakeholders in nuclear engineering, research, and policy.

The conference is shaping conversations around how Africa is building capacity, advancing nuclear energy, and preparing the next generation of professionals.

On the final day, youth participation took center stage, with our President Linnet Nyamweya contributing to a panel on advancing nuclear energy in Africa and the role of young professionals in driving this progress.

Our participation reflects our commitment to ensuring youth are actively contributing to the future of nuclear in Africa.

⚛️ Inspiring the Next Generation of Nuclear Leaders

Today we are visiting Mang'u High School and officially launching the school's Nuclear Club.
This initiative is introducing students to the world of nuclear science and technology while highlighting its applications in medicine, agriculture, environmental protection, research, and clean energy.
Through mentorship, STEM outreach, and knowledge sharing, KYGN is continuing to nurture curiosity, build awareness, and empower young people who are exploring future careers in science and innovation.
We are proud to be supporting Mang'u High School as they begin this journey in nuclear education.

🤝 Strength in Collaboration

Yesterday, Kenya Young Generation in Nuclear (KYGN) and the Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Youth Network (RPNS-YN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen youth engagement in nuclear science, radiation protection, and safety.

The partnership will focus on:
📘 Education and public awareness
⚛️ Capacity building and mentorship
🧩 Policy engagement and advocacy
🗞️ Information sharing and research collaboration

Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to amplify the voice of young professionals and ensure youth are meaningfully represented in shaping Kenya’s peaceful nuclear development agenda.

This is more than a partnership, it is a commitment to build capacity, share knowledge, and inspire the next generation of nuclear professionals.
