Langata GCC's much loved Marceline Sheila graduated from her vocational courses in knitting and basic cookery this week! Sheila is classified a disabled Kenyan citizen and her gentle nature has made having her with us at GCC all these years - since she was a little girl - such a pleasure.
Now, please pray with us as we seek God about how to find a way that she can live on her own, independently of GCC. She will always be part of us as she requires special medication, etc. At the same time we know some independence will help her continue to mature and learn to accomplish more daily routines on her own. We don't have a plan yet. But pray God will give us one!

FINAL UPDATE AND TREMENDOUS NEWS:
We did it! Wait, let me correct: GOD did it! He moved on those he desired to give, and last evening (Nairobi time) - more than 48 hours before our deadline - a donation of $1500 brought us to the total of $10,000, earning us the right to claim the match!
We are definitely doing the dance of joy today...
Our sincere gratitude to all who gave. This $20,000 will definitely help us a great deal with the support of our children's ministries over the months of June, July and.August!

IMPORTANT UPDATE AND PRAISE:
Overnight another $1000 came in as a donation to our matching challenge! We've raised $8,500 in such a short time. I'm amazed and grateful.

It is midday Wednesday in Nairobi, giving us about 60 more hours to meet CMIA's matching challenge of $10,000, which will be doubled to give us $20,000 for CMIA's children's programmes, if met. I think we can do this!

Wow! Our God is good. CMIA just took a giant step towards meeting our matching challenge of $10, 000 with a donation of $1800... moving us just $3,000 away from our goal!
It's evening here in Nairobi, and we close out the day praising the Lord for moving those who have given so generously.
