Langata GCC's Phyllis Wangui has not yet secured a sponsor for her final two years of secondary school.
Would you pray about helping CMIA keep this sweet girl in Year 11, then move on and complete Year 12 in 2027?

In case you've felt like you missed out ☺️, here's yet another opportunity to sponsor a Grace Children's Centre secondary schooler for their final years of education! (We are still shocked at the GCC young people we've discovered somehow passed over for education sponsorship this year! )
Langata GCC's Phyllis Wangui joined us when she was around six years old, and the quietest, sweetest little girl... Not much has changed: She's still a very quiet and sweet teen girl. "Steady" would be a good way to describe Phyllis. Always liked by her peers, she's served as a class president, and is a great role model to our younger girls.
What Phyllis needs:
1) An immediate
sponsor to help her complete Year 11 (2026) at $675 for the year. This sum is all inclusive, meaning it pays for uniform, fees, school lunch, holiday tuition, class trip... Her final year - Year 12 - begins next January, meaning Phyllis will need another $675 in late December this year. As her sponsor, you will also have the opportunity to sow a parting gift of cash as Phyllis exits the GCC programme in early January 2028.
2) Like Nakuru GCC's Mayiani, Phyllis also lacks basic needs sponsors at $45 per month, should you feel led to sow to food, clothing and routine medical care instead of education.
We don't want ANY of our GCC kids to leave our programme without a complete formal education, but we need the help of donors to make this happen!
If Phyllis's story tugs at your heart a little, please phone Rhonda at 817- 964- 4101 and she will take your credit card payment, or advise you on other ways you can sow funds.
Thank you in advance for your help with Langata Grace Children's Centre's Phyllis!

Every boy needs a father figure in his life! Langata Church On The Rock men travelled this morning to spend their Labour Day with the Nakuru Grace Children's Centre boys. They laughed, played, ate good food, talked... Christian Kenyan men mentoring Kenyan boys and teens. Nothing better! Thank you Langata men for travelling so far to be a blessing to our awesome Nakuru GCC boys!

UPDATE: Mayiani has an education sponsor!

Who remembers this boy from Nakuru Grace Children's Centre?
Issac Mayiani gave us a scare a couple weeks ago when he underwent surgery to remove a growing tumour on his neck just under his ear. We were all a bit on edge as he was passed to three specialist surgeons, with more and more tests ordered along the way, before the type of tumour was identified, and ended up having a more delicate surgery called a parotidectomy to remove the tumour which was attached to his salivary gland and facial nerves.
Long story short, Mayiani is recovering and doing well. Thank you Lord!
In our quest to organise our sponsorship records, completely separating education sponsors from basic needs sponsors to better determine who has what sponsorship, who keeps sponsorship from year to year, etc, it has been found that Mayiani- truly one of the GCC's best boys - shows no sponsorship of any kind, from years as a child at Olorropil GCC to now, a Year 11 teen at Nakuru GCC. Now that we've almost completed the update and separation of records, it is difficult to believe the the amazing kids that dropped through the cracks in regard to obtaining sponsorship, and certainly explains some of the strain on CMIA's general budget...

What Mayiani needs:
1) A sponsor for his last two years of secondary school. Year 11 fees ($640) are needed now, to keep Mayiani in school, the new term which started yesterday. Then, again in late December this year, fees for 2027 Year 12 ($675), his final year of formal education and his final year at GCC. Mayiani's new education sponsor will also have the opportunity to bless him one last time, with a parting gift of cash to help him along the way as he reintegrates into the community.
2) A basic needs (food, clothing, minor medical needs) sponsor at $45 per month, mainly because our Nakuru GCC boys have huge appetites!

If you feel that Mayiani is a boy you'd like to see through to the finish at Nakuru GCC, please message this page or Jennifer Hatley. If you feel compelled to act immediately, to keep Mayiani in school, phone Rhonda in Fort Worth (daylight hours!) and either pay his overdue 2016 fees by credit card, or let Rhonda give you an alternative way to get payment to us quickly.
#817- 964 - 4101. Thanking in advance the person whose heart is touched by Mayiani's story, and acts!

UPDATE: God is good! Patrick has an education sponsor....

Another Grace Children's Centre Village-Gombe teen needing help with education...
16 year old Patrick Olambo somehow missed getting a commitment for secondary school sponsorship as well. This boy has begun Year 9, but because - in sorting and restructuring our education sponsor records - we've discovered he has no sponsor, we don't have a way of helping him continue on in school unless he secures that sponsorship.
Your generous support has built our Grace Children's Centres and it continues to sustain them as we raise our present 140+ orphaned children, and continue to dream of being able to take the many younger children needing to come. In addition to lacking a sponsor to help him finish formal education, Patrick also has no sponsor for even the basics.
Patrick's exact need explained:
1)A basic needs sponsor - actually two sponsors who feel led would be ideal - at $45 per month per sponsor -
This covers Patrick's meals, housing/bedding, clothing and simple medical needs.
2)An education sponsor for 2026 (this school year) for Year 9 and on through Year 12 -
2026 fees are needed now, $640. This will allow Patrick to stay in school, the new term which begins tomorrow.
Rhonda, in our Texas office, is available at telephone 817- 964- 4101 to take your credit card payment, or to give you other options on how to sow the 2026 tuition payment.
Moving forward, Patrick's following three years will require $675 per school year, due each December - 2026 through 2029- for the following academic year. You will also have the opportunity in January 2031 to sow a parting gift of cash to send with Patrick as we release him from the GCC program.
This is really a marvelous opportunity to actually make it possible to finish the raising of an orphaned boy and send him out into the community to become a contributing citizen and a Kenya nation- builder!
Will you be that person?
CMIA will be extremely grateful, Patrick even more so!

UPDATE: Thanking God! Hope has an education sponsor!

Going through records, CMIA has learned that Grace Children's Centre - Gombe's Hope Awuor did not secure an education sponsor for secondary school Year 10 (this school year), and - without one - it is going to be difficult to keep her in school this next term, which starts Tuesday.
Formal education is an opportunity all Kenyan girls and boys deserve, but CMIA cannot ensure this for our orphans without your help.
What is needed for Hope: $640 now (to continue on and complete Year 10), then $675 in December this year to cover all 2027 Year 11 fees, and another $675 in December 2027 to cover 2028, her final year. You will also have an opportunity to bless her with a gift of cash as she leaves the GCC program in early January 2029.
Hope has been with us at GCC Village for many years, and has been a sweet, gentle girl who loves school and loves church at Gombe Church On The Rock. In an area of the country where sometimes young women still continue to be overlooked, we don't want this to be the outcome for Hope! If this touches your heart, will you help us? Message me, Jennifer Hatley, if you have questions, or just phone Rhonda in Texas at 817-964-4101 directly, to pay this year's fees by credit card and make sure you are entered on the roster as Hope's education sponsor. The need for 2026 is urgent. Thank you for considering becoming a significant member of this teenage orphan's upbringing!

Mayiani is looking much happier, and is grateful for those that prayed and gave towards his surgery. Though he will likely be discharged today, the removed tumour has undergone a histology test and the surgeon now wants to send it to Nairobi for further testing. So please don't stop praying for Maiyani until he is completely out of the woods! Blessing to all who have come with us on this journey...

Please pray for Nakuru GCC's Mayiani, who is being admitted to hospital this evening (Thursday) for early Friday surgery to remove a tumour connected to his parotid (salivary) gland. It has taken weeks to determine what kind of tumour it is, as that identifies what kind of surgery is required to remove it. Yesterday's MRI finally determined a parotidectomy is required. It is a bit more delicate surgery as it does involve an internal gland and facial nerves.
CMIA is not prepared for unexpected, larger medical costs like this for our GCC kids, so donations would be much appreciated. Estimated costs once all is said and done are about $1600 perhaps a bit more adding travel and aftercare .Testing has cost more than $500 of that amount.
Mayaini is one of our Masai boys, living for the first time out of his culture and attending secondary school with the boys at Nakuru GCC. He's a great young man. This last month has really been alot for this teenage boy, and for all of us - especially when it was thought the tumour might be malignant. A needle aspiration biopsy and the MRI say no. Praise God for that!
To give, you can make an online donation or phone Rhonda @ 817-964-4101 to pay by credit card. Thank you so very, very much!
