Good afternoon, my dear Ashland family.
We are still on the journey. I will not stand here and say we have made it yet. The truth is, we are still struggling. We are still fighting every day to make sure our Ashland kids are okay.
We started from bare ground. Our children come from poverty, from homes where even a daily meal is not guaranteed. The challenges are real. There are days we lack funds, we lack equipment, and we lack enough hands. But we have not given up, and we will not give up.
That is why Ashland exists today — to give these children safety, support, and a chance at a better future.
And we are not walking alone. To the people who have stood with us,parents, funs and our sisters from Sweden who have given their time, their resources, and their encouragement when we were tired: thank you. Your belief in us keeps Ashland standing. With your continued support, with our teamwork, and with God’s grace, we know we will reach there.
And let me be clear: Ashland is not just about training and going to games to show people we exist. No, we are building more so these children have a future.
We have started farming. That farming will help Ashland run a feeding program for our children every month. A hungry child cannot learn, cannot train, and cannot dream. So we are planting now so that tomorrow, we can feed them.
We also do shaving. It may sound small, but it matters. We want to make sure our Ashland kids look clean, presentable, and confident, the way every child deserves to feel. Dignity starts with the little things.
Soon, God willing, we will introduce other projects, too. It’s one step at a time. We have not reached the finish line yet, but we are moving.
Our mission remains the same: to help our Ashland kids stay away from bad influences early. To protect our girls from early pregnancy and to keep all our children away from drugs and destructive behaviour.
These problems often grow in silence. Girls fall into early pregnancy not because they want to but because they lack someone to talk to at home. When a child feels unseen, when there is no food, no school fees, no guidance, and no listening ear, they become vulnerable. They start looking for love and answers in the wrong places.
But we believe this can change. If we talk, if we listen, if we mentor, if we stand together as a community, we can guide them. We can create safe spaces where our kids feel valued and spend their time building their lives, not breaking them.
Ashland is not just a place. It is a promise we are still working to fulfil — a promise that no child here will be left behind because of where they come from.
We have come through struggle. We are still in the struggle. But with teamwork, with your support, and with determination, we will get there.
Our children deserve more. And together, we will give it to them.
Thank you. Let us keep standing. Let us keep building Ashland, one step at a time.
