Congratulations to Somalia, which becomes the 50th State Party to the Agreement on the Creation of the ZLECAf.

Somalia BECOMES THE 50TH STATE PARTY TO THE AGREEMENT ON THE Creation of the African Continental Free Trade Area

The Federal Republic of has submitted, on September 4, 2026, its instrument of ratification of the Agreement on the Creation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAf) at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, .

With this submission, Somalia becomes the 50th State Party to the ZLECAf Agreement, marking an important milestone in the country's participation in the African Single Market and reaffirming its commitment to economic integration.

The Secretariat welcomes Somalia and is pleased to support the country in advancing its national implementation and in creating opportunities for the Somali private sector to effectively participate in intra-African trade.

Somalia's participation gives a new impetus to the collective effort to deepen regional value chains, develop trade, and build a more integrated and prosperous Africa.
