The first week of the programme came to a crowning last night with a powerful inspirational panel discussion with Bina Maseno Casper Sitemba Raymond Ochieng Hsc and Raphael Obonyo Kamau Wairuri at the Strathmore University Business School. When young leaders in their different spheres of influence show up to inspire the next generation of leaders, it is testament to the cross generational exchange critical in ensuring our common future is secured in the right values of leadership. Thanks to ForumCiv Eastern & Southern Africa for powering this fellowship programme that will run for the next six months. Inspired to inspire.

Fare thee well General Ogolla. You did not deserve such a painful death. Most definitely not at this time. Gone too soon.

The death of Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Francis Omondi Ogolla alongside the other 9 decorated military officers on the call of duty for country in the chopper crash yesterday is a painful reality of the fleeting life.

The Nation is sombre in mourning.

Gen. Ogolla was the epitome of discipline, passion, valour, determination and courage. Most definitely our best that there was. He has been snatched from us at his prime. Because Generals don’t just die, we pray. May he and the other gallant soldiers that perished rest in eternal peace.

My prayers and thoughts go out to their families and colleagues in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) as they come to terms with this tragic loss.

Fare thee well gallant soldiers. It is well.
