Hey everybody, King's Day is just around the corner, to celebrate and spread kindness we are selling cupcakes! All proceeds will go to the Breakfast Club (www.dodore.org) and A21 (www.a21.org).

From students to students.

Breakfast is common in The Netherlands, nevertheless, International School Groningen (ISG) students held a festive talent show dedicated to The Breakfast Club to share awareness and raise funds to provide breakfast for children in Nairobi Slums every school day.
The festive talent show morning was initiated by the students as their CAS (creativity, activity, service). A minimum donation of €1 is required from every student to participate in the show. The ISG students managed to collect a total of €500 that are donated to The Breakfast Club.

As you know, the ongoing war in Ukraine has caused many families to flee from their homes, leaving behind their belongings, and sometimes even loved ones. Most of the men in the families are in the war zones while their families are refugees in other parts of the country.
The most affected groups are always children, women and older folks, who suffer the most from the lack of food and basic necessities. The war has disrupted food supply chains, resulting in insufficient food for many families.
That's why The Breakfast Club has decided to expand our mission to also support some Ukrainian families. We are collaborating together with a pastor, Jakub Debicki, in the west of Ukraine in Lviv, who is working with these families, and with your help, we can make a real difference.
We encourage you to take action and donate, no matter how big or small, every contribution counts! In our previous post, we shared a story about the Ukrainian family Shamchuk from Kharkiv, who has been deeply impacted by the war. With your help, we can support many more families like theirs and provide them with the essentials they need to survive.

When The Breakfast Club began, we made a bold promise to ourselves and our supporters: 100% of public donations would go directly to fund the Breakfast Club. We are a small independent organization that supports three schools in the Kawangare Slum in Nairobi. This money is being used to provide a simple but nutritious Breakfast for currently 300 of our young pupils.

We are ANBI certified by the Dutch government.

So, how do we pay our additional costs?

From day one, a handful of generous donors fund all of our operating expenses. It’s not always easy, but it’s an approach we believe in deeply. With this help, we can reassure you that 100% of your donation will benefit our children.

Additionally, our organization is entirely based on volunteers, who believe in the power of small acts can make a BIG difference in this world. Every donation is important to the Breakfast Club, and we are grateful for each contribution we receive.

New year, new chance!

Last week the new school year started again for the kids in Nairobi!

We all know the pure excitement of starting fresh into a new chapter. Getting to know new pupils, learning new content, and having loads of fun with our schoolmates!

Especially, in the three schools the Breakfast Club supports in Nairobi, we noticed a 30 % increase in new students, just because we are offering their pupils daily breakfast.

But in order to give them access to education and welcome these children as well with a nourishing breakfast that helps them successfully start their days, we depend on the money of our donors. Therefore we ask you to support our actions by donating as little as 5 € to the Breakfast Club.

5 € already can provide a meal to 11 pupils a day!!!

The Drawings Project is an exciting initiative launched by the DoDore Breakfast Club, a charity dedicated to fighting the food crisis in Kenya. Our mission is to provide breakfast for 280 children in Kenya every day, and we’re calling on the support of our community to make this a continuous reality.
A group of HU students visited Kenya to check in on the partnering schools that the Breakfast Club supports. While there, the children created beautiful drawings as a way to say thank you to their supporters. Now, we’re giving you the opportunity to own one of these one-of-a-kind pieces of art and make a real impact in the lives of these children.
For a minimum donation of 5€ you can purchase one of these unique drawings and help to fight the battle against hunger.
0.45€ is all it takes to provide breakfast for a child, meaning it costs less than 10 € to provide breakfast to a child for an entire month! Did you know that breakfast is essential for children's development? The Breakfast Club believes in giving children the opportunity to have an education and at the same time providing nutrition to build their bodies and minds. From the donations that we gather, we provide children in Kenya with a simple but nutritious breakfast every school day!

Providing breakfast in schools encourages attendance and promotes education for the children. On tougher days, the children might not even get a meal so the sponsored breakfast could be the only time in the day when they get food to eat.

As schools in Nairobi are starting soon, we will continue to provide them with the most important meal of the day (breakfast). However, without your help, this would not have been possible. With just €1 a day, you can provide 4 children with a nutritious breakfast every school day.

MACEVA FAMILY

Our family consists of 4 people. We have two children - a boy and a girl (twins, 5 years old); the girl is disabled and does not walk and couldn’t take care of herself. Before the war, we lived in Mykolaiv region, but unfortunately in March we had to leave our home. We now live with relatives who sheltered us in their private house. It is very small house, they are not rich people... but we are grateful that we can live here, far from war.
Our disabled daughter is currently not receiving rehabilitation, because it is impossible in this time. I work with her at home by myself as much as I can, but I know that it is not profesional. My husband worked in the field of tourism, as a driver. Now, no- one is traveling so he is out of work. He is helping as a volunteer and territorial defence. That's why we really need help... Thank you for everything, especially for the food for children. It helps us to safe some money and buy medicine for our daughter.
