Last week, We were honored to participate in the inaugural Pathways to Freedom Africa Network (PFAN) Summit 2026 held in Abuja, Nigeria, a landmark continental convening on ending human trafficking.
Under the theme “Inclusive Strategies for Ending Human Trafficking: Reaching the Most Marginalised,” the Summit brought together diverse stakeholders committed to strengthening protection systems, prevention strategies, legal and policy responses, data and evidence use, survivor inclusion, and economic empowerment across Africa.
We were represented by our very own Kimani Chris, Lead – Decent Work and Labour Migration, who contributed to the final Summit outcomes, including the PFAN Action Agenda 2026–2028 and the Founding Partner Declaration.
This milestone reinforces the urgency of coordinated, rights-based, survivor-centred, and inclusive responses to human trafficking, especially for women, children, migrant workers, persons with disabilities, displaced populations, and other vulnerable groups.
We extend sincere appreciation to the Kenyan Delegation under NAHUSOM-Network Against Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants. for their solidarity and strong representation throughout the Summit.
We remain committed to advancing safe migration, decent work, and collaborative action to end human trafficking in Kenya and across Africa.
