Every act of compassion tells a story of God’s love in action.

Today, over 600 families across Kola and Makueni Commands experienced the reality of “Heart to God, Hand to Man” as The Salvation Army Kenya East Territory Emergency Response Team distributed emergency relief package of Maize, beans, cooking oil and planting seeds to vulnerable households.

The team was greatly supported by Majors Paul & Rachael Kioko (DC/DDWM, Kola Division) and Majors John & Grace Mbindyo (DC/DDWM, Makueni Division). Their coordination and support helped ensure that hope reached families who needed it most, especially those affected by the current challenges.

One beneficiary, overwhelmed with emotion, shared through tears:“You don’t know what you have done for me. You don’t know how I left home..May God bless you .”

These words remind us that beyond the food and material assistance, we are bringing hope, dignity, and a tangible expression of Christ’s love.

Together, we continue to demonstrate Christ’s love through practical service—restoring hope and standing alongside communities in times of need.

Please continue to pray for the families served, our officers, and all those working tirelessly to bring hope, dignity, and relief to vulnerable communities. Together, we can make a lasting difference.

Heart to God, Hand to Man.

👀 OPEN YOUR EYES

"We need to open our eyes, even in our own homes." These powerful words from Territorial Commander Commissioner Samuel Baah marked the official launch of The Salvation Army Kenya East Territory's Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign at the Territorial Headquarters.

Grounded in Luke 4:18, the Territorial President of Women's Ministries Commissioner Theresa Baah reminded participants that Christ came to proclaim freedom for the oppressed, calling the Church to stand with the vulnerable and bring hope to those affected by exploitation.

The Territorial Secretary for Women's Ministries Colonel Celeste Nhacumba emphasized that this was more than a walk—it was a mission with a purpose. Quoting Proverbs 31:8, she challenged everyone to "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves," while expressing appreciation to the National Counter Trafficking in Persons Committee (NCTIP) for its partnership in the fight against human trafficking.

Following the flag-off, officers, soldiers, employees, and partners took the message to the streets of Ngong District and Ngong Town, engaging the public with a united voice against human trafficking. Every step taken reflected The Salvation Army's commitment to protecting the vulnerable, restoring dignity, and promoting justice in our communities.

As followers of Christ, we are called not only to see the needs around us but also to respond with compassion, courage, and action. Together, let us open our eyes, raise our voices, and stand against every form of exploitation.

Men of Purpose in Action! 💙

The Kenya East Territory Men's Ministries Committee has demonstrated its commitment to strengthening The Salvation Army's mission through practical service by donating a modern office table and chair to the Officers Training College Principal's office.

Presented by Lt. Colonel Bernard Ngui, Secretary for Programmes, alongside committee members, this act of generosity reflects a shared commitment to supporting officer training, leadership development, and the spiritual formation of future Salvation Army officers.

This donation symbolizes partnership in mission, faithful stewardship, and Christian service in action.

Some roads test the vehicle. Others test the heart. 🌧️⛰️

In the misty hills of Mbitini, the journey was anything but easy. Rain-soaked roads, thick fog and muddy, impassable stretches stood between the Emergency Response Team and the families waiting for assistance.

But compassion does not always travel on easy roads.

With determination and, above all, God’s grace, the team pressed on—eventually reaching more than 250 vulnerable families with relief food.

With the support of Majors Ndeto, DO/DDWM Mbitini, what began as a difficult journey became an opportunity to stand alongside a community in a moment of need.

This is what service can look like: showing up, walking the difficult paths, and sharing what we can with dignity, humility and love.

The road was challenging. The purpose was greater.
Another chapter of service, faith and compassion—to God be all the glory and honour. 🙏

❤️ MORE THAN RELIEF—A DEMONSTRATION OF LOVE AND CARE

Today, hope took a tangible form in the heart of Sulutan, as more than 600 households received relief food through the Kenya East Emergency Response Teaam supported by Major Moses Ndatu Divisional Commander Sulutan.

It was a reminder that people matter, families matter, and no one should feel forgotten in times of need. 🤝

(They were supported with a package of Maize, Beans, cooking oil and maize planting seeds ) the package came with a message of compassion: You are seen. You are valued. You are not alone.

As the Salvation Army continues its mission of serving without discrimination and sharing hope in practical ways, today's response reminds us that compassion is not merely something we speak about—it is something we put into action.

🌍 More than food.
More than a response.
It was love in action.

FOLLOWING JESUS WITH A PURPOSE

The closing session of the Messengers of Reconciliation and Joyous Intercessors gathering was led by Territorial Leaders Commissioners Samuel Baah & Theresah Baah

During the ceremony Commissioner Theresa Baah reminded delegates that God has called each of us for a special purpose and challenged us to be true messengers who are peaceful, humble, graceful, and forgiving.

Drawing from Matthew 4:18-20, Commissioner Samuel Baah encouraged the delegates to follow Jesus with purpose, emphasizing that discipleship is founded not on convenience but on God's calling. While Christ never promised comfort, He calls His followers to faithfully carry the cross and serve His Kingdom.

As delegates return to their appointments and communities, they do so with a renewed commitment to follow, obey, and allow Christ to use them in different ways for His glory.

EBENEZER… “THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US!"
1 SAMUEL 7:12 🙏✨🔥
The closing meeting of 15 Years’ Review of the Friends of Jesus Session marked a significant, memorable, and deeply inspiring moment of gratitude and reflection. Later 2 sessions were welcomed Messengers of Reconciliation Session (2020–2021) and Joyful Intercessors Session (2015-2016).

Across both meetings, heartfelt worship, meaningful reflection, warm fellowship, and words of encouragement created an atmosphere of thanksgiving as participants looked back over their journey of sacrifice, commitment, obedience, and faithful service. Their story is a powerful testimony that, through every season, challenge, transition, and uncertainty, God has remained faithful. He has sustained them, strengthened them, and carried them safely to this significant milestone.

Colonel Celeste Nhacumba challenged the participants to embrace new levels of spiritual growth, renewed commitment, and greater effectiveness in ministry. She encouraged them not to become comfortable with past accomplishments but to remain available and responsive to God’s continuing call. The journey may have brought many achievements, but there is still more to accomplish for the Kingdom of God.

Colonel Mario Nhacumba encouraged the session to embrace the Three Rs:
🤝 Remember God’s Faithfulness – Never forget what the Lord has done. Remember His provision, protection, guidance, strength, and grace throughout every season.
🤝 Rejoice in His Accomplishments – Celebrate God’s goodness, the victories He has given, answered prayers, transformed lives, and the fruit that has come through years of faithful service.
🤝 Reach Forward Without Growing Weary – Do not allow yesterday’s achievements to become tomorrow’s limitations. Continue pressing forward with courage, vision, perseverance, and determination, trusting God for the greater things that lie ahead.

As we celebrate these important milestones, we pause with grateful hearts and declare:

“EBENEZER!” — Thus far, the Lord has helped us! 🙏

✨ "WHO IS REVIEWING YOU?" ✨

Asked Commissioner Theresa Baah setting a tone for the day as Commissioner Samuel Baah, The Territorial Commander Kenya East Territory, officially opened the 15-Year and 17-Year Reviews for the Friends of Christ Session (2010-2011) and Prayer Warriors Session (2008-2009)

Together with Commissioner Theresa Baah, the leaders reminded us that being a Friend of Christ means living a life of love, trust, and obedience. Character counts, honouring our families counts, and finishing the race well counts.

From Enoch's example in Genesis 5:21-24, Commissioner Baah shared five life-changing lessons on walking faithfully with God:
1. Intimacy with God
2. Daily godly choices
3. Standing apart from worldly trends
4. Trusting and surrendering to God
5. Obedience

His challenge to everyone: Be Bold Enough to be different. Be Bold Enough to walk with God faithfully.
What a victorious and inspiring day! 🙌
