After a week of celebration and sales here in the USA, we want to encourage you to keep up the spirit of generosity with us this Giving Tuesday, as we offer students in impoverished communities the ability to access education. Link to donate on our website is in the bio.

🎀 Give to the Max is this Thursday, November 20th! We would be honored to have you partner with us as we continue on this journey fundraising for Project Nairobi!

*What is Give to the Max?
Give to the Max is an online giving day through GiveMN that helps non-profits get word out about their organization and raise needed funds in a 24hr period!

*Why is it important to donate through this campaign?
The more donors who give through Give MN, the more times we are registered for additional prizes that would help further our cause. Early giving is open now so feel free to give even today!

*What is this campaign money going towards for S2GH?
Your support has already purchased land in Nairobi and secured a wall around it! Your continued support will place a school building on that land, teaching beautiful Kenyan children for years to come! It will also outfit the school with essential teaching supplies, quality teachers and safety and resources for students in need.

S2GH’s impact in Nairobi overflows to another community β€” Kibera, the largest slum in Africa. In Kibera, the population is estimated to be between 500,000 to 1 million people inside of 2.5 square kilometers (almost 1 sq. mile). It is The Hope Center in Kibera amongst the extreme poverty, unsanitary conditions, and lack of education that Jacaranda Community works alongside to bring light and hope. The community space (see photos) is being built there for weekly meetings to support children and mothers needing encouragement, resources and education. Joy radiates from their resilient smiling faces amidst health issues, financial uncertainty, and safety concerns because of their sense of unity in community.

Thank you for your continued support! We could not come alongside this community without you!

Camp Mizizi is also for youth ages 14-young adult!

A recent lesson focused on finances like how to budget and be generous to others. One activity helped the youth visualize the allocation of funds, helping them better understand their values regarding money.

Though many of them come from a background of poverty, they desire to learn how to manage their finances in a way that will provide for them and their family and that will break the cycle of poverty!

Thank you for being apart of Schools to Give Hope! Share with your friends how they, too, can be part of this amazing work!!

When students are on holiday, Jacaranda Community hosts hundreds of kids for day camps each week. Called Camp Mizizi, meaning β€œroots,” the next generation of Kenyans are being taught to grow strong roots as people of good character and as those who serve their community. The camp is split into two groups based on age, and each age group meets twice a week. Many kids lack consistent meals, so one is provided at the end of each camp day filled with rice, stew, and bananas. In the photos above, the 5-13 year olds learn about how to be a good neighbor and care for the needs of others. They are taught by young adult leaders of the community, many of whom grew up attending Camp Mizizi.

**SPOTLIGHT** Meet Amanda β€” An empathetic, diligent and down-to-earth leader at S2GH!

What has been your role in S2GH:
β€œI wear a few hats for S2GH, one of which has been to support the executive director, TJ, since I married him in 2019. Additionally, I get to foster partnership relationships at speaking engagements and through newsletter distribution. Finally, I have been apart of a couple team building trips in Kenya.”

Why are you passionate about S2GH:
β€œI am passionate about S2GH because it is an extension of what I get to do each day in the USA as a social worker for students. With S2GH, it is an honor to use my skills and values to support the communities S2GH partners with to help break cycles of poverty by increasing access to education and training up teachers and leaders.”
