CGA works towards a fair, just and safe marketplace for all Kenyan grassroots consumers in all sectors of the economy. Consumer Grassroots Association (CGA) is an independent, multi-sectoral, non-political and non-profit Association committed to grassroots consumer protection, education, research, consultancy, anti-counterfeits campaign and advocate on all consumer related issues. The Association has been in existence since January, 2015.

World Consumer Rights Day is marked annually on 15th March. This year’s theme, “Safe Products, Confident Consumers,”, is a call to all stakeholders to uphold consumer safety through effective legal and regulatory frameworks.

We held the Consumer Engagement Forum in Rongai, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening community awareness on food safety as a constitutional right

The discussions revealed a pressing concern: despite having the right to demand safe food, many consumers remain exposed to risks due to inadequate information, weak oversight, and unsafe practices within the food market.

Through the engagement, we provided practical guidance on safe food handling, risk identification, and the importance of making informed decisions in protecting their households.
