Our Story
Tumaini Found for Economic Development International (TFEDI) provides Micro-Finance under Small Assistance Enterprise Program (SEAP) and has been in existence since 22nd Feb 2005 and was officially registered as an N.G.O on 22nd March. 2007. As an organization TFEDI has been able to generate a larger amount of funds through revolving fund from its members. Today we have a total of 157 active members and three banches: Huruma, Makadara and Korogocho. Micro-Finance clearly has a role to play in the fight against HIV/AIDS as it contributes to strengthening a house hold safety net. Micro-Finance cannot by itself change the face of HIV/AIDS. It can help ease the financial and other burdens of those living with HIV/AIDS and can help to promote behavior change. Vital to stemming the tide of infection and preserving a future for generations of Africans to come. However, the main activities of TFEDI will remain Small and Medium Entrepreneurship (SME) at community (Slum) as means to create and enhance economic opportunities and provision of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services and commodities whereby victims of HIV/AIDS will be beneficiaries as well as members of the organization. When they become economically empowered, they can afford healthcare, that includes the access of Anti-Retroviral Therapy, balanced diet and treatment arising from opportunistic infections as well as the routine laboratory tests that are required to monitor the progress of the diseased.
