Children are not just beneficiaries of programmes—they are partners in creating solutions. At Save the Children, we believe every child has the right to be informed, heard, and involved in decisions that affect their lives. By engaging children in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of water, sanitation and hygiene services, we help ensure that these services are safe, accessible, inclusive, and responsive to their needs.
Through child-led discussions, school health clubs, and community engagement initiatives, children, especially from marginalised communities, share their experiences and ideas, helping shape solutions that work for them and their communities.

As we count down to , we are reminded that access to water alone is not enough. Every child deserves safe, clean water, sanitation, and hygiene services that protect their health, dignity, and future.

Through Save the Children's WASH interventions, families have received water purification sachets and hygiene education, helping reduce waterborne diseases and create healthier futures for children.

Together, let's continue championing children's rights to safe services and a healthy environment.

Save the Children recently convened county leadership, health management teams, facility representatives, development partners, and project stakeholders to validate findings from a Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) budget analysis in Nairobi County.

The analysis assessed how resources are allocated and utilized to support the delivery of quality healthcare services for mothers, newborns, and children. By promoting accountability, strengthening evidence-based planning, and identifying opportunities for more efficient and equitable investments, the findings will support informed decision-making and improved health outcomes.

The insights generated will help enhance access to quality services in Makadara and Kamukunji sub-counties, ensuring that limited resources are directed where they are needed most.

Together with our partners, we remain committed to advancing sustainable health systems and ensuring that every mother, newborn, and child has access to the quality healthcare they need not only to survive, but to thrive. 세이브더칠드런 The Ministry of Health County Government 047 Nairobi City County Government CFK Africa

We are delighted to have joined the national launch of the 2026 in Marsabit County, a significant milestone in advancing children's rights and meaningful child participation across Kenya.

Guided by the theme, "Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa," the event brought together children, government leaders, development partners, civil society organizations, and communities to champion every child's right to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

Children took center stage by sharing their experiences, presenting recommendations to leaders, and calling for greater investment in services that support their health, dignity, and future.

As we count down to the national celebrations on 16 June, we remain committed to amplifying children's voices and advocating for increased investment in safe water, sanitation and hygiene services, ensuring every child can grow, learn and thrive in a healthy and dignified environment.
