Save the Children Kenya Save the Children works to achieve the rights of all children, focusing on the most marginalised.

Save the Children has been operational in Kenya since the 1950s, providing support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners. Current programming focuses on child protection, child rights governance, education, health, HIV/AIDS, livelihoods, nutrition & Water, Sanitation and Health (WASH). Save the Children now has an operational presence in Bungoma, Dadaab Refugee Camp, Garissa, Mandera, Turkana and Wajir and we work through partners in many other parts of the country.

Save the Children is participating in the 13th East African Humanitarian Summit (EAHS Africa 2026), bringing together humanitarian, development, government, private sector and other partners to strengthen collective action across East Africa.

Under the theme “Agenda 2063: Crisis to Resilience,” the two-day summit is exploring how cross-sector collaboration, innovation, anticipatory action and stronger preparedness can help build more resilient systems for communities affected by crises.

For children, this matters. When conflict, displacement, climate shocks, food insecurity and disease outbreaks intersect, children are among those most affected. Stronger humanitarian systems can mean faster action when crises strike, more resilient essential services, and better protection of children’s rights and wellbeing.

At Save the Children, we know that protecting children in crises is not only about responding when an emergency happens, but also about being prepared before it does.

Save the Children Kenya and Madagascar TWV Project with The LEGO Foundation Support recently brought together education and child-rights stakeholders to develop a unified, evidence-based submission on the Basic Education Bill, 2026 and Teachers Service Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

Working with partners including Kecsha National Office, Special Schools Heads Association of Kenya (SSHAK), Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), LAW SOCIETY OF KENYA (LSK) and Elimu Yetu Coalition, we are advocating for laws that promote equity, inclusion and protection for every child—including children with disabilities, refugees and stateless children.

Together, we are working towards an education system that leaves no child behind and supports every teacher to thrive.

Meaningful change for children begins when their voices can influence the decisions that affect their lives. Moving from symbolic participation to meaningful policy influence requires strong systems, practical approaches and learning across borders.
Over the past four days in Nairobi, Save the Children Kenya hosted a delegation from Save the Children Somalia and partners for an institutional learning exchange focused on strengthening child participation and advocacy.
Through engagements with Cradle – The Children Foundation, Mtoto News and the East Africa Child Rights Network, the teams explored practical approaches to creating platforms for children’s participation, strengthening advocacy capacity and connecting grassroots voices to national policy and legislative processes.
The exchange concludes with the teams translating these lessons into joint advocacy action plans for Somalia.

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In Kenya and around the world, we work every day to ensure children survive, learn and are protected from harm.

We invite qualified, experienced consulting firms to express interest in providing technical support for the design and implementation of digital SBCC interventions in Nandi County. The intervention aims to promote improved health and nutrition practices across households and strengthen the capacity of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and Community Health Assistants (CHAs).

Key Assignment Details:
1. Coverage: Tinderet and Emgwen Sub-Counties, Nandi County
2. Delivery Channels: Tailored messaging via WhatsApp, SMS and Telegram (in English and Kiswahili)
3. Duration: 6 months (November 2026 – April 2027)
4. Key Focus: Mobile community messaging, health/nutrition SBCC and robust data protection and safeguarding
