Overview of CPDA
Christian Partners Development Agency (CPDA) is a non profit, non partisan, organization registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under the NGO coordination act (1990) in 1993. Our programmatic focus is in two categories; namely Governance and Democracy, and Integrated Food Security for Sustainable Livelihoods. These programmes are currently implemented in Kenya. Goal:
To partner in development for the advancement of equitable communities in Kenya and beyond through research, advocacy, capacity building and developmental programme that empowers them to respond more effectively to their needs.
2. Thematic area/ Area of Focus
Governance and democracy: Enhancing participatory governance at local, national and global levels through improved mechanisms and strengthening the capacities of grassroots communities. Gender equality promotion: Strengthening the capacity of women in transformative leadership to support Kenya and beyond overall development and the meeting of MDG goals. Sustainable agriculture: Facilitating institutions and structures for improving food security and food sovereignty at household level. Community health: Reduce communicable/ HIV infections, stigma and disease burden in communities. Water and environment: Environment, water and sanitation conserved and improved. Partnerships and networking: Strengthening partnership and collaboration networks with diverse stakeholders for effective delivery, organization learning and visibility. Institutional development: Continuously strengthening of CPDA’s governance standards, staff capacity enhancement and improving net resource base.
3. Geographical Location including County Vihiga, Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Trans Nzoia, Narok, and Makueni Counties.

• Establishment, registration and Strengthening of Neighbourhood Assemblies (NAs).
• Youth Empowerment on Governance and Leadership Development.

• To mentor and expose potential women leaders.
• Documenting and dissemination of data, case studies and success stories on women.
• Facilitate media and public forums programmes for women and women leaders.
• Building the capacities of women on the opportunities available on the new constitution and international treaties and declarations.
• Tracking, analysing, documenting and disseminating representation of women on all structures of governance (political and administrative).
• Empower women economically for self reliance.
• Reducing incidences of gender based violence.
• Promoting awareness on reproductive health.

• Promotion of modern good agricultural practices among 70% women and 30% men.

• Enhancing Breeding Programme for livestock among 70% women and 30% men.
• Promote and advocate for sustainable tea production at local national and global level among 70% women and 30% men.
• Investment in modern biodiversity technologies among 70% women and 30% men.
• Up scale the Production of African Green Leaf Vegetables among 70% women and 30% men.
• Strengthening of marketing channels for small scale farmers.
• Promotion of Orange/yellow Fleshed Sweet potato Production among 70% women and 30% men. Community health
• Establishment of an accredited Comprehensive Care VCT Centres.
• Increased and strengthened HCBC activities.

• To develop a comprehensive communication strategy.

• Rationalization, restructuring and recruitment of program and administration staff.
• Set up an integrated computerized monitoring and evaluation system, financial management and human resource systems.

• Developing Needs Assessment for Human Resource.
• Institutionalize policies and guidelines.
• Vetting, restructuring, profiling and training of Board of Directors (BoD).
