The Vijana Umoja Pamoja Foundation was formerly legalized in February 2nd 2012 to become a fully autonomous youth led, not for profit and nonpolitical Kenyan NGO. VUPF’s mission is to enable young people in particular and communities in Kenya to advance a just social order that guarantees equal opportunities and access to justice by all whilst its vision is to promote responsible and empowered cit
izens initiating positive change. VUPF focuses on supporting and strengthening the capacity and capability of the most at risk groups particularly the youth and women so as to enable them see the window of hope at the end. In a way to achieving meaningful and measurable impact, VUP Foundation does this mainly through capacity development, Advocacy, Research and Youth exchanges. In executing its mandate, the organization works around five main strategic areas; Linking and interlinking democracy and Governance, Capacity Building on Social Accountability, Advocacy on Youth Policies and violence prevention as well as Youth sustainable development with particular interest on Environment and Natural Resources Management and Livelihoods.
