On behalf of the National Executive Leadership of the Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK), and on my own behalf as the National Chairman, I extend my warmest congratulations to you on your well-deserved victory in the Kericho County bodaboda elections.
Your election is a clear demonstration of the confidence and trust that bodaboda riders have placed in your leadership, integrity, and commitment to advancing the welfare of our members. This victory is not only a personal achievement but also a call to serve with humility, fairness, transparency, and dedication.
As you begin this important journey, I encourage you to unite all riders across Kericho County, including those who supported other candidates. Let us put the election behind us and work together to promote road safety, discipline, professionalism, economic empowerment, and peaceful coexistence within the bodaboda sector.

Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK)

The Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK) strongly condemns the reckless actions of the driver of motor vehicle KCB 874R. Hit-and-run is a serious traffic offence, and endangering the lives of other road users is completely unacceptable.

We are deeply disturbed by the incident in which the motorcycle was dragged after the collision while the rider sustained serious injuries. Such actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for human life and road safety.

We urge all motorists and riders that whenever an accident occurs, they should remain calm, secure the scene, and ensure that the injured receive immediate medical attention. Preserving life must always take precedence over anything else.

As an Association, we call upon the relevant law enforcement agencies to conduct thorough investigations and ensure that justice is served for the injured rider. We understand that the vehicle involved is currently being held at Kasarani Police Station. We urge the police to expedite the investigations, establish the full facts surrounding the incident, and take appropriate legal action in accordance with the law. We also appeal to any witnesses with relevant information to cooperate with the investigating officers to ensure justice is served.
Road safety is everyone's responsibility. Let us protect lives by respecting traffic laws and exercising patience and humanity on our roads.

The National Executive Chairman, alongside the Deputy National Chairman, Mr. Tirop, together with the Vihiga County Chairman, Mr. Junior Boy, and the County Executive Committee, today hosted Dr. Raymond Omollo, CBS, Principal Secretary, State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, during a Bodaboda Riders Engagement Forum held at the Vihiga County Commissioner's Grounds.

The Principal Secretary was accompanied by the area Member of Parliament, the Deputy Governor of Kakamega County, and Hon. Jalang'o (Jalas), Member of Parliament for Lang'ata. The forum brought together over 2,000 bodaboda riders, demonstrating the sector's commitment to road safety, security, and economic empowerment.

Also present were our valued partners KNEST, Mogo, and Definite Assurance who continue to support initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of bodaboda riders across the country.

A major highlight of the forum was the announcement by the Principal Secretary directing the release of motorcycles that had been detained at police stations for minor traffic offences under an amnesty initiative. This move was warmly received by the riders.

Dr. Raymond Omollo further emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between bodaboda riders and security agencies in promoting peace, security, and safer communities. As the country approaches the election period, he urged all riders to reject violence, uphold the rule of law, and become ambassadors of peace.

During the engagement, the Vihiga County Chairman appealed for government support to empower bodaboda SACCOs and improve the economic well-being of riders. In response, the Principal Secretary pledged to return and support the SACCOs through empowerment initiatives.

The Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya remains committed to championing road safety, promoting peaceful coexistence, and advocating for the social and economic welfare of all riders.
