Game on, impact on. ⚽✨

Just before the school holiday break, the team brought energy and purpose to Wathituga Secondary School’s Sports Day in Laikipia, celebrating talent on the field while creating space for meaningful conversations off it.

Together with , we engaged girls on menstrual health and distributed reusable sanitary kits, while also connecting with parents who continue to champion the work happening in their school.

Shoutout to the team, led by Captain Naftali, for showing up with heart and impact.

A day in the Mara, through young eyes.

Recently, members of the Ololomei Primary School Wildlife Club stepped into the wild with a visit to North Conservancy (Masai Mara, Kenya), hosted by their patron guide, Jimmy Tinka. For many, it was their first real game drive, a chance to see the landscapes and wildlife they’ve grown up hearing about, come to life.

Through our Kids on Safari program, we continue to bring students from local schools into the conservancies, creating space for learning beyond the classroom. Guided by , the pupils explored, asked questions, and connected with wildlife in a way that was both exciting and meaningful.

These experiences are about more than just a day out, they nurture curiosity, build understanding, and inspire the next generation to value and protect the natural world around them.

We are thrilled to introduce George Lepapa, who has recently joined Maasai Mara Secondary School as a Computer Studies Teacher Intern.

George is no stranger to us. He is an alumnus of our Annual IT Youth Training Program, where he built a strong foundation in ICT skills that have now led to this well-deserved opportunity. His journey from program participant to an IT teacher is a testament to his dedication and hard work.

In his new role, George will be supporting the day-to-day running of the Computer Lab Project at Maasai Mara School, working alongside the team to ensure students have access to quality digital education.

Global Recycling Day | Don’t Think Waste, Think Opportunity ♻️

At , waste is never the end of the story, it’s the beginning of something new.

We sort our waste right from the point of collection, making recycling more efficient and ensuring as much as possible is reused or repurposed. At our camps' waste management centre, every item is carefully separated for recycling or safe disposal—while creative upcycling finds new purpose for materials across camp.

Because when we shift our perspective, waste becomes opportunity.

Learning beyond the classroom, one experience at a time.

Our 30 Wildlife Club members from Mama Ngina Kenyatta Olkuroto Primary School recently enjoyed a truly enriching day out, blending conservation, creativity, and community.

Together with our Trust ambassador Abraham Kishoyian, Kicheche Bush Olare camp manager Dido Dima, and guide Julius Ronko, the students took part in engaging conversations around wildlife conservation, tree planting, and the importance of protecting their natural environment. They also received wildlife magazines and books to keep that curiosity growing.

The highlight of the day was a visit to the beadwork workshop, where they met the incredible women and artisans behind the craft. From bead-making and leather work to understanding value addition and exploring the tree nursery, the experience opened their eyes to how conservation and community livelihoods go hand in hand.

Moments like these stay with them, shaping how they see the world and their role in protecting it. A big thank you to for warmly hosting and inspiring our young conservationists.

When the ‘Bush’ becomes your classroom.

Our 53 Wildlife Club members, proudly registered with the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya, recently gathered with Kicheche Camps guide and club patron Jimmy Tinka for a conversation that brought conservation to life.

Jimmy shared stories and lessons from years in the field, helping the students understand elephant behaviour, how communities can live alongside them, and how to stay safe during the rainy season when encounters become more common.

But the Bush had more to teach. Jimmy also spoke about medicinal trees and the quiet ways nature cares for people. And because Jimmy is Jimmy… the birds got a mention too.

Moments like this show that conservation isn’t just something you learn about — it’s something you grow into. And these 53 young minds are already on that journey.

A good story often begins with a book. 📚

Recently, 395 curriculum and extracurricular books were donated to Naboisho Primary School, giving their library a much-needed boost. With shelves now well stocked, students have greater access to learning materials that will support their studies, curiosity, and growth.

A heartfelt thank you to our Kicheche Valley Naboisho team, who carefully covered and prepared each book before distribution. Your effort helped turn this simple donation into a meaningful resource for the students.

Small actions like these help create bigger opportunities for the next generation.

Happy International Women’s Day!

When a woman gains an opportunity, the impact often reaches far beyond her.

Through the Kicheche Community Trust Women Empowerment Program, women in our communities are learning practical skills—from beadwork and sewing to small business skills—that help them earn an income and support their families. For many, it’s more than a skill; it’s confidence, independence, and a chance to create new possibilities.

This year’s message, “Give to Gain,” is something we see every day. By investing in women with knowledge, training, and opportunity, the gain comes back to families and communities that grow stronger together.

Today we celebrate the resilience, creativity, and determination of the incredible women shaping a brighter future.

Planting seeds of conservation — 230 young stewards rising.

We’re proud to enroll 230 students from six schools into Wildlife Clubs of Kenya. Students from Maasai Mara Secondary School, Margaret Kenyatta Olkuroto Primary School, Olkimitare Primary School, Naboisho Primary School, Ololomei Primary School and Wathituga Secondary School are now part of a growing movement of young conservation champions.

- They plant trees.
- They learn gardening during camp visits.
- They experience wildlife stewardship through Kids on Safari.

Each club is guided by a dedicated teacher patron and a Kicheche Camps guide, mentoring them both in class and in the field.

We believe conservation begins early. And with these 230 students, the future looks hopeful. 🌍✨

The UltraMARAthon is more than endurance; it’s impact in motion.

Nearly 300 runners. One wild course. One powerful purpose: conservation and community in the Mara.

We are proud to have sponsored 8 runners from our camps and head office and host a water station along the route last year. Every kilometre run helps protect wildlife, support local communities, and strengthen the Mara’s future.

Race proceeds support:
• Mara Elephant Project – funding rangers, mitigating human-wildlife conflict, and protecting vital habitats.
• Northern Mara Conservancies – equipping and supporting rangers who safeguard the land daily.

returns November 14, 2026. Registration opens July 1st.

Breaking barriers, empowering communities.

In marking , Kicheche Community Trust in partnership with , screened the powerful film “SARAH” at Naboisho Primary School to spark conversation and awareness around FGM and early marriage through storytelling.

The day featured two engaging sessions under the theme “Let Girls Be” — a morning screening for Grades 4–9 (9+ years) and an afternoon session for parents and guardians.

Grateful to the facilitator, KCT coordinator Clinton, Charity (Head Teacher), Tumpes, David & Abigail Lasoi (SAFE), and KCT Ambassador Bernard Soit for supporting the initiative.
