The 60th Christie Sevens is officially in the books, and what a weekend it was at RFUEA Grounds.

We’re incredibly proud to have been part of this historic milestone. From managing waste throughout the tournament to keeping the grounds clean and sustainable, we made sure the focus stayed on the rugby and the celebrations not the mess.

A huge shoutout to the teams, fans, and organizers kenyaharlequinfc who made this year’s event one for the history books. Here’s to keeping our game and our environment clean.

DAY 2 – KIBERA RAIN PREPAREDNESS
Slums Going Green and Clean (SGGC), together with community members, continues clearing drainage trenches to reduce the risk of flooding and waterborne diseases during the coming rains.

But cleaning trenches is not enough. We urgently call on Nairobi County Government to provide Kibera with a designated public waste holding ground. Without one, waste will continue finding its way back into our drainage channels. We call on the community to stop dumping waste in trenches and support keeping our drainage clear.
Let’s prepare before the rains. Let’s protect Kibera together.

PRE-EL NIÑO ACTION IN KIBERA!

Before the heavy rains came, Slums Going Green and Clean (SGGC) we took action with the community in Kibera.
Our teams and community members are working together to clear blocked drainage channels, remove accumulated waste and plastics, and reduce the risk of flooding in our informal settlements.
This is more than a cleanup. It is climate action at community level.
When drains are blocked with waste, heavy rains can quickly turn into flooding, damaging homes, businesses and livelihoods.
We believe prevention starts with the community. Clean drains. Resilient communities. Safer Kibera.
Together, we can prepare Kibera for the rain.
