Farmers in Kee Ward, Makueni County, are learning, sharing and exploring
A Farmer Field Day is happening today in Kee Ward, Makueni County, with farmers turning up in good numbers to learn about practical approaches for building resilient farming systems.
Farmers are being taken through regenerative agriculture, while various agricultural technologies and practices are being showcased.
The event has brought together 13 stakeholders, alongside the Ward Agricultural Officers, National Government team from the Office of the ACC, Chief and Assistant Chief of Kyamwalye Location, Kee Division, among others.
Joshua Muasya, the Sub-County Agricultural Officer (SCAO), is the Chief Guest.
The field day is creating an important space for farmers, government and partners to exchange knowledge and explore practical solutions for more resilient and sustainable agriculture. Eoa Initiative Kcoa_khea

Following a successful day of proposal presentations, students participating in the Agroecology and Agrobiodiversity International Training Course (AAITC) 2026 demonstrated a strong understanding and appreciation of agroecology through innovative, practical, and solution-oriented proposals.
The presentations showcased the students’ ability to connect agroecological principles with real-world challenges facing farmers, food systems, and communities across East Africa. Their ideas reflected the growing role of young people in developing sustainable approaches to agriculture, agrobiodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and food security.
The session also provided an important learning opportunity, with students receiving constructive feedback and expert insights from the panellists. The feedback will help them refine their research questions, strengthen their methodologies, improve the clarity of their proposals, and enhance their potential impact.
The day highlighted the importance of creating platforms where young agroecology innovators can learn, share ideas, receive mentorship, and develop practical solutions for more resilient and sustainable food systems. Eoa Initiative Kcoa_khea

| Day 2 of AAITC 2026
The Agroecology and Agrobiodiversity International Training Course (AAITC) 2026 Proposal Feedback Workshop is underway, bringing together students from universities across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The session opened with remarks from Biovision Africa Trust Interim Director, Mr Fredrick Ochieng, who highlighted the critical role of youth in shaping the present and future of agroecology, agrobiodiversity and sustainable food systems.
Today, the students will present their proposals, receiving feedback and insights to strengthen their research and innovative solutions for a more resilient and sustainable agricultural future.
