**When communities restore nature, they also strengthen their future.**

We are excited to share a recent feature aired on Citizen TV’s 9pm News Climate segment, showcasing the work of the **Native Plants for Environment and People (Native PEP) project in Tiaty, Baringo County.**

The story captures how communities are taking action to restore degraded rangelands, protect natural resources and use native plants to create healthier and more resilient landscapes.

These efforts are about more than environmental restoration. They are also about **protecting livelihoods, strengthening community resilience and building more sustainable food systems.**

At Biovision Africa Trust, we believe that some of the most meaningful solutions come from communities themselves. By connecting local knowledge with science, innovation and partnerships, we can support solutions that respond to the realities of people and their environments.

The KCOA Network: Connecting Knowledge Across Africa!

The KCOA network is strongly represented at the FARA Agribusiness and Science Week ( ) in Abuja, Nigeria, with the KCOA Network Committee (KHEA, KHWA, and KHNA Knowledge Hubs ) coming together under one shared vision for sustainable food systems.

From Eastern to Western and Northern Africa, the Knowledge Hubs are working to strengthen the generation, sharing, and uptake of practical knowledge on Organic Agriculture and Agroecology.

The network at the science week brings together farmers, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and partners to exchange knowledge, showcase innovations, strengthen capacity, and build connections that can accelerate the transformation of Africa's food systems.

Biovision Africa Trust is proud to be part of this growing continental network and to support the collective effort to make agroecological knowledge more accessible and actionable.

From Farmer Knowledge to Innovation: Shaping the Future of Agriculture

Yesterday-the 28th July 2026, at the FARA Agribusiness and Science Week ( ) in Abuja, Nigeria, Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, together with partners, hosted a side event on Farmer-Centred Action Research and Innovation at Johannesburg Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel.

The session explored the importance of putting farmers' knowledge, experiences, priorities, and realities at the centre of agricultural research and innovation.

At Biovision Africa Trust, we believe that transforming Africa's food systems requires solutions that are practical, inclusive, and grounded in the experiences of farming communities.

Through our work in agroecology, farmer communication, knowledge management, and capacity strengthening, we support efforts that connect farmers, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and innovators to co-create solutions for more resilient and sustainable food systems.

🌿 From Knowledge to Harvest: Celebrating Farmer Success in Kakamega! 🍌

Meet Milcah Nakholi, a member of the Juhudi Farmers Self-Help Group in Emulele Village, Shibuli Sub-location, Lurambi Sub-County, Kakamega County.

Milcah is celebrating a good harvest of bananas planted using the knowledge and skills she gained during a learning session facilitated by Biovision Africa Trust through BVAT Field Officers; Elias Biwot and Pamela Otieno.

Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact that practical, locally relevant agricultural knowledge can have when farmers are empowered to put learning into practice.

At Biovision Africa Trust, we believe that knowledge is a powerful catalyst for transforming food systems, strengthening farmer resilience, and improving livelihoods.
