Liberty Visions Learning Center

Liberty Visions Learning Center LVLC is a Christ-centered school that provides free, quality education and support to the children living in the Kenyan slum Mji wa Huruma.

Liberty Visions Learning Centre is a free nursery and primary school for disadvantaged children in Mji wa Huruma, Nairobi, just next to Runda. The school was founded by Chipo Makaya and she serves with her husband, Prince Makaya as co-directors of Liberty Visions, the mother ministry. LVLC is supported entirely by donations from friends of the ministry. The school offers volunteer opportunities to friends interested in community development and education in poor communities.

We are excited to share progress on our Computer Lab at Liberty Visions Learning Center!

By God’s grace, we now have desks in place—an important step toward creating a functional learning space for our students. We are also grateful for the computers generously donated by Rosslyn Academy.

However, there is still work to be done. The computers need upgrading, and we are trusting God for monitors, keyboards, and mice to fully equip the lab.

We are also looking for a volunteer who is passionate about empowering young minds through technology—someone who can help guide our students and ensure they gain strong computer literacy skills for their future.

To all our donors and supporters—thank you. Your generosity is making a real difference in the lives of these children.

How you can partner with us:
• Pray with us for provision and growth
• Visit us and see the impact firsthand
• Give towards equipment and upgrades
• Volunteer your time and skills

Together, we are raising a generation ready to thrive!

As we step into our first semester break at Liberty Visions Learning Center, I took time to intentionally build our team. I had the joy of meeting with both our teachers and student leaders—sharing, teaching, and growing together.

It was a truly wonderful time of strengthening capacity, unity, and vision for both staff and students. I am so encouraged by what God is doing in and through this team.

From my heart, thank you to everyone who continues to support us. Your partnership is making a lasting impact! Chipo Makaya

In January 2010, we broke ground and started building the foundation on which the very first Liberty Visions Learning Center container classroom was to stand. It's been 16 years of slow but steady growth.

Hebrews:11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Today, with maps in hand, another team to assist and faith engaged, we begin another exciting journey in our quest to minister to the disadvantaged amongst us.

Many of you have already bought your tickets, got your boarding passes and are already anxiously clutching your arm rests as we rattle down the runway, having faith that we will take off and fly off together into the unknown.

Destination: Liberty Visions Skills and Leadership Training Center! If you haven't bought your tickets yet, there's plenty of time and many stops along the way where you can hop on.

Confidence, and Dignity – Thank You!

At Liberty Visions Learning Center, there are many reasons to smile this month. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing donors, our children have received new school uniforms—and the joy on their faces says it all!

For many families in our community, providing basic school items can be a real challenge. By giving these uniforms, you have done more than provide clothing. You have given our children dignity, confidence, and a sense of belonging. When they walk into class dressed like their classmates, they feel proud and ready to learn.

You have also lifted a burden from parents by removing one expensive item from the long list of school needs. That kindness makes a real difference for families working hard to provide for their children.

Even more special, the uniforms were made by a talented member of our own community, which means your support is not only blessing the children but also creating employment and strengthening the local economy.

The children are looking smart, confident, and happy—and it is smiles all around!

From all of us at LVLC, and especially from the children:
Thank you for helping them look good, feel valued, and focus on becoming their best.

💙 Together, we are helping these children say: “Help me become!”

Investing in Excellence at LVLC – Thank You!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the generous donors who sponsored Director Chipo Makaya, our Head Teacher, and two of our teachers to attend professional training with the Association for Christian Schools International (ACSI).

This training was part of the Path to School Improvement series—an important program designed to help Christian schools strengthen their leadership, teaching standards, and spiritual foundation.

Because of your support, our team gained valuable knowledge and practical tools that will help Liberty Visions Learning Center (LVLC) continue improving the quality of education we provide to the children in our community. This is also an important step as we work toward future accreditation as a Christian school.

Your investment is not only strengthening our teachers—it is shaping the future of every child who walks through the doors of LVLC.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us build a school that nurtures both the minds and hearts of our students.

Together, we continue to say: “Help me become!”

Many of you might know of Kenyan long-distance legends like Eliud Kipchoge, David Rudisha, Faith Kipyegon and Tegla Loroupe.

But did you know that Kenya also has famous football stars who have played on the global stage? Names like Victor Wanyama, Michael Olunga, Dennis Oliech, McDonald Mariga and Divock Origi have carried Kenya’s name with pride internationally.

As the teachers play with the children at Liberty Visions Learning Center (LVLC), who knows? Maybe one of them will rise to stardom in the sports arena one day.

Thank you to our dedicated teachers who go above and beyond to give these children a holistic education—nurturing not just their minds, but their talents and dreams too.

Liberty Visions Learning Center (LVLC) was grateful to join the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Global Day of Prayer 🌍🙏

This year’s theme, “Power in Prayer” (James 5:16), reminded our students that prayer is powerful and that God hears them — even at a young age.

Using the ACSI prayer guide, our children prayed:
✨ To seek God’s presence
✨ To trust His provision
✨ For our school
✨ Over our students
✨ For our families
✨ For wisdom and discernment

Moments like these help us intentionally teach Christian values and raise children who know how to seek and trust God.
