We address Adolescent Maternal and Reproductive Health and economic empowerment MotherChild Health Organization (MOCHO) is a Kenyan-based, women-led non-profit dedicated to zero maternal mortality and improved community health. Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and incredible contributions of women in our families, communities, and across the world.

At MotherChild Health Organization (MOCHO), we believe that empowering women is one of the most powerful ways to build healthier families and stronger communities. When women have access to health information, education, and opportunities, they are able to transform not only their own lives but also the lives of their children and communities.

Every girl deserves more than survival.

In our community, too many girls lose their childhood to early pregnancies, poverty, and stigma. At MotherChild Health Organization (MOCHO), we are saying: Enough.

We focus on two things that change everything:
Adolescent Maternal & Reproductive Health → Teaching girls about their bodies, cycles, and rights.
Economic Empowerment → Training them in skills like beadwork, tailoring, digital literacy, and more.

Because when a girl is healthy AND empowered, she is unstoppable.

Together with partners, donors, and friends like you, we are rewriting the story of Rusinga Island—one girl at a time.

💔 No one truly understands the struggles, stigma, and self-doubt that come with motherhood at an age when you should still be chasing your dreams.

Imagine being only 15 years old. Instead of preparing for your dream of becoming a doctor, teacher, or leader you are tied up to breastfeeding, battling silent postnatal depression, and carrying the weight of being a child raising another child.

Societal judgment, isolation, and stigma often push these girls into early marriages. Their childhood is stolen, their voices silenced, and their futures rewritten.

At MOCHO, we believe no girl should lose her future because of circumstances beyond her control.

🌸 We walk with girls through their maternal and reproductive health journey.

🌸 We empower them with skills from tailoring, soap making, beadwork, and hairdressing to digital skills like social media marketing and web development.

Because beauty is not just external it’s in dignity, confidence, and opportunity. ✨
