SKILLS BUILDING & CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

Today, we kicked off skills mentorship for our young mothers through a practical salon training session.

The session gave them an opportunity to engage practically and learn the basics of making lines, twists, and how to professionally handle clients while delivering quality services.

It was an insightful, engaging, and hands-on session as the young mothers explored a skill that can help them create income generating opportunities and greater independence.

And those beautiful smiles?
They motivate us every single day to keep doing more.

At MOCHO, we believe that skills can create opportunities, restore confidence, and transform lives.

BEYOND YOUNG MOTHERHOOD: HELP HER BUILD A FUTURE

Imagine being a young mother who desperately wants to learn.
She wants to attend training.
She wants to learn a skill.
She wants to earn an income.
She wants to give her child a better life.

But today, she is worried about something much more immediate:
“What will my baby eat?”
“Where will I get diapers?”
“How will I afford sanitary towels?”
“How will I get to class?”

For some of the young mothers we work with in Kayole, these everyday challenges are enough to keep them away from learning opportunities.

And that is why MotherChild Health Organization - MOCHO is launching our Beyond Young Motherhood Community Outreach Campaign.

We want to make it easier for young mothers to remain in learning while caring for their children.
Your contribution can help provide:
🌸 Sanitary towels
👶 Diapers
📚 Learning materials
🚌 Transport/logistics
💜 Support that enables young mothers to continue their journey toward economic independence.

Because having a child should not mean giving up on having a future.
We want to see young mothers move beyond survival.
We want to see them become skilled.
We want to see them earn.
We want to see them provide for their children.
We want to see them become confident women who can contribute to their communities.

Today’s training was an insightful one as our young mothers were introduced to dropshipping and the power of digital marketing.

We showed them how to market themselves and their products, reach customers online, and turn digital platforms into opportunities for income.

The world is moving beyond traditional door-to-door selling. Customers are online, and businesses need to be online too. 🌐📱

At MOCHO, we are equipping young mothers with practical digital skills to help them become independent, confident, and future-ready entrepreneurs. ❤️

We don't just teach we show them how it's done.

AT MOCHO, WE CARE BEYOND THE TRAINING ROOM.

We understand that sometimes circumstances can make it difficult for our young mothers to attend our training programmes. Through the guidance of our Director, , we saw the need to introduce a simple meal to help keep them happy, encouraged, and motivated as they continue their empowerment journey.

Today, we introduced tea and sweet potatoes as a small beginning. 🍵🍠❤️

It may be simple, but to us, it represents something bigger — love, care, family, and commitment.

We want our young mothers to know that they are valued, supported, and never alone. And this is only the beginning. More is yet to come.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATING YOUTH THROUGH LOVE, UNITY & SOLIDARITY

Today, MotherChild Health Organization (MOCHO) celebrated International Youth Day in a different and meaningful way together with our young mothers. ❤️

After having an engaging dialogue with them, we walked together as one family to visit one of our young mothers who was unfortunately attacked by thieves today. Her phone was taken and she sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Rather than simply going home after our session, we chose to stand with her.

Together with the young mothers, we visited her home to express our love, offer comfort, and let her and her family know that she is not alone. We shared our sympathies with her and her parents and reminded her that she remains part of the MOCHO family.

For us, empowerment goes beyond training rooms and lessons.

It is about showing up.
It is about caring.
It is about standing together during difficult moments.
It is about building communities where young people know that they have people who believe in them.

At MOCHO, we are empowering young mothers to become confident, responsible and resilient women who can help raise a generation that is built differently a generation founded on love, knowledge, confidence, responsibility and hope.

Today, we celebrate our young mothers.

We celebrate their courage.
We celebrate their growth.
We celebrate their resilience.
We celebrate their dreams.
And most importantly, we celebrate them for who they are and who they are becoming.

Happy International Youth Day from MotherChild Health Organization (MOCHO) 🌍❤️

Together, we care. Together, we empower. Together, we build a generation differently.
