Tuko Pamoja—Swahili for "We Are Together"—is a mental health workbook created by teenagers in Kenya, for teenagers everywhere. Every page grew from the voices, artwork, and lived experiences of young people who wanted other teens to know they are not alone.
Our goal is to print this workbook and place it into the hands of young people who desperately need hope, belonging, and a safe place to begin healing.
Your donation will help us:
Print high-quality copies of Tuko Pamoja
Expand Harambee Arts teen support groups in underserved communities
Train teachers, counselors, and community facilitators to use the workbook in safe, trauma-informed ways
Distribute the workbook to schools and organizations where mental health resources are scarce
Our goal is to raise $12,000.
For nearly twenty years, Harambee Arts has walked alongside children, teenagers, caregivers, people with disabilities, trafficked women, and women in prison in Kenya through expressive arts and compassionate community support. We've learned something simple but profound:
Healing doesn't begin with advice. It begins when someone feels seen.
One teenager recently told us,
"When I come here, I know I belong."
Those words are why Tuko Pamoja exists.
