Woman's Hope Kenya

Woman's Hope Kenya Woman’s Hope main aim is reaching out to women with relevant social-economic information that would be relevant in uplifting their living standards

Woman’s Hope was established in March 2007 with the aim of reaching out to women with relevant social-economic information that would be relevant in uplifting the living standards of the entire society. Women continue to remain underserved and their energies and skills are underutilized. The risks of the potential negative impact on society outweigh the potential benefits. If the situation is not

arrested and reversed to create an abundance of opportunities by directing their skills, innovation and participation towards meaningful activities that promote self esteem, employment, life skills and overall empowerment, we will have failed. As woman’s hope we have seen that there’s great need to tackle this issue and reach out to the Kenyan woman in our quest to change this nation by setting a platform that will empower this special group. Our women should be armed with the three basic elements i.e. reason, logic and rationality through education then challenges like political, economical and social issues that undermine their well being will be a thing of the past and surely Kenya will be on course to achieve the millennium development goals. This is the dream WOMAN’S HOPE KENYA believes will fulfill.

Today’s training was all about positive vibes and meaningful connections. We were delighted to visit women who have joined the journey of empowerment through the ConnectHer App. Seeing their enthusiasm, resilience, and determination to build better futures was truly inspiring. Together, we are creating opportunities, restoring hope, and empowering women to achieve economic independence and a brighter tomorrow.

Gender-Based Violence is Rising, We Must Act Now.
This is a worrying trend. Cases related to gender-based violence (GBV), femicide, and intimate partner violence are on the rise.
Behind every statistic is a woman, a girl, a family shattered, and a future stolen too soon.
We are seeing:
Increasing cases of femicide across communities
Rising intimate partner violence
Survivors struggling to access timely rescue and safe spaces
Many cases going unreported until it is too late
This is no longer a silent issue it is a public safety and human rights crisis.
But silence is not an option.
We must strengthen:
Emergency response systems that act fast
Safe shelters and safe havens for survivors
Community awareness and prevention programs
Accountability and justice for survivors
Economic empowerment so women are not trapped in violence
Through Womans Hope initiative like ConnectHer are committed to bridging the gap between crisis and response ensuring that a call for help becomes immediate action, not a delay.
Every life matters. Every survivor deserves safety. Every voice counts.
It is time to move from awareness to action.
It is time to protect women and girls before another life is lost.

Due to the rising cases of femicide and gender-based violence, Woman's Hope Kenya has developed the ConnectHer App, an innovative digital solution designed to connect survivors and individuals at risk of gender-based violence to real-time emergency response services.
The app features an inbuilt panic button that instantly alerts emergency responders, enabling rapid intervention and support during crisis situations. ConnectHer aims to bridge the gap between survivors and critical services by providing timely access to rescue, protection, and assistance when it is needed most.
Through technology and strategic partnerships, Woman's Hope Kenya is committed to enhancing the safety, security, and well-being of women and girls while strengthening community response mechanisms to gender-based violence.
We are grateful to Lions Lystrup and Womans Hope Danmark for the support and making this innovation a reality.

Just like that we have lost a whole family. 😢😢😢😢

The family of 4 lived in Kiganjo-Thika. Kamau Kamoko, the husband, was in plumbing business. His home area is Gatanga, a place called Kiarutara.

Phyllis Wambui, the wife, was food vendor in Thika. She was also from Gatanga at a place called Mwago.

Their first born son, Tallan, was about 6 years old. Terrence, the second born was about 4 years old.

The neighbors reported the commotion but the doors were locked from inside. It got to the extreme when they lit fire and the house started burning.

By the time they managed to break the doors, the husband, wife and the boys had collapsed. The smoke had filled the entire house. Unfortunately, the husband and one son succumbed before rescue.

The wife and one son were rushed to hospital where she succumbed today. One of the don is in ICU in one of the hospitals.

Such a sad ending for a family who looked really good in their social spaces. So so sad 😢.

Edit:
The other boy has rested too 😭. Entire family is gone.

Urgent appeal. Looking for a rescue shelter for a girl who is stranded.
Dear Woman’s Hope Organization Team,
Hello. My name ****
I am writing to you because I came across your page online and saw the wonderful work you do to support women and youth. I am currently facing a very difficult situation and am hoping your organization might be able to help me.
I am currently pregnant, and I do not have a permanent place to stay. Last year, the father of my child and I had an unsolvable misunderstanding. For my own peace of mind and the well-being of my baby, I made the decision to leave. I have tried talking to him recently to see if he would support us, but he is not showing up, and I cannot rely on him.
Initially, my sister was helping me out, but she is no longer in a position to house or support me because she is living with her partner and is also taking care of our younger sister. Furthermore, I do not have a job right now that can sustain me or my baby.
Because of these financial strains and changing circumstances, I have no one left to turn to. I am completely stranded and I'm on the road with no shelter. I am urgently looking for assistance. Housing, any resource navigation or employment guidance you can provide as I prepare for my baby's arrival.
Thank you so much for your time, your kindness, and for the incredible work you do for women in need. I look forward to hearing from you.
