Every child deserves to feel safe, protected, and seen. Yet between January 2025 and March 2026, Kenya recorded 10,581 child protection cases — including abandonment, abductions, trafficking, and missing children incidents. Reports show that nearly 23 children disappear every day.

This is more than a statistic. It is a call for collective action.

Protecting children requires stronger community systems, safe spaces, awareness, psychosocial support, and timely emergency response. Organizations working on the frontlines cannot do this alone.

We invite donors, partners, and changemakers to invest in child protection and help create safer futures for vulnerable children across Kenya. Together, we can prevent harm, strengthen response systems, and ensure that no child disappears into silence.

What happens when you combine wellness, strategy, honesty, laughter, and purpose in one space?

Transformation.

For 3 days at Zeituni Lodge, Lake Elementaita, the Murua Girls team engaged in 12 powerful sessions — 6 focused on wellness and 6 on strategic planning.

We arrived as colleagues and left as a stronger unit, connected by shared purpose, deeper understanding, and genuine appreciation for one another.

The wellness sessions reminded us to pause, reflect, heal, and encourage each other. They were a mirror, a safe space, and a cheering squad all at once.

This retreat was not just about planning the future of Murua Girls — it was about strengthening the people who carry the vision every day.

Grateful for growth, alignment, and the journey ahead.

SILENT BARRIERS exist within our homes and communities — often unnoticed, yet deeply limiting the potential of our girls.

What may seem normal to us can quietly hold a girl back.
Lack of information. Limited access. Social expectations.

When we expect girls to take on more responsibilities at home, to always “lend a hand,” or to fit into narrow definitions of what they should be, we may unknowingly stand in the way of their growth and dreams.

These are the silent barriers to self-actualisation. As a community, we have the power to change this.

At Murua Girls, we work alongside families and communities to identify these barriers and address them together. Because supporting a girl goes beyond the classroom — it starts at home and is strengthened by the community around her.

Let us create spaces where our girls are not just supported, but encouraged to dream, grow, and thrive.
