As we begin the third term, we step into the shortest yet perhaps the most consequential term of the academic year. It marks the final stretch of the school calendar and for our candidates, the moment when they will put to the test all that they have learnt and prepared for over the years.

To all our students, this is the time to give your very best. Finish strong, remain focused and use every ounce of energy within you to make up for any academic mish*ts you may have made during the first and second terms. Let this term be defined by discipline, determination and a renewed commitment to your dreams.

To our 2026 candidates, believe in yourselves and in the preparation you have undertaken over the years. Approach your examinations with confidence, stay focused and give them your very best. Believe that you can indeed succeed.

We sincerely appreciate parents and teachers for the important partnership they continue to demonstrate in nurturing our children. As parents guide and shape them at home, teachers on the other hand take up the responsibility of moulding and educating them while in school.

We must remain united in raising a generation that is not only academically interested but also disciplined, responsible and grounded in good values. As parents hand over their children to the care of teachers, we hope that our teachers will continue to handle them with patience, grace and dedication.

From myself and the entire Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation fraternity, I wish all our learners, teachers and parents a successful third term.Best wishes as you head back to school.

I was humbled by the depth of gratitude and genuine happiness by Mama Jane Araka when I visited her to track the progress of her new home. Her reaction as a widow reminded me that Sometimes, what may seem like a modest gesture to us can mean the world to someone who has endured hardship for far too long. Having been brought up by a Widowed mother, after the passing of my Father when I was a little girl, I understand the plight of widows in our Villages.

Seeing Mama Jane smile with renewed hope has made every effort worthwhile. This is now the true meaning of "Nyumba Ni Heshima" by the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation Shelter Initiative;we are building homes, restoring dignity and transforming lives.

In our own small way, we are determined to putting smiles on the faces of vulnerable families and homes as we seek to impact our Community positively for a better tomorrow.

DAY 4, ESSY OKENYURI NYAITUGA FOUNDATION SHELTER INITIATIVE,BOGEKA WARD, KITUTU CHACHE SOUTH CONSTITUENCY.

With humility and dedication, today I participated in the ongoing construction of the upcoming house of Mama Jane Araka, a needy widow from Gesoni Village. Through our collective efforts, the house is slowly taking shape and at the end of the day we shall have put a smile on Mama Jane's face. The locals truly warmed my heart as they embraced our shelter initiative and encouraged us to keep impacting our community positively in one way or the other.
Even a simple and modest house is a basic need and I believe that if we put our heads together, we can always touch more lives.

As I worked alongside our team and the locals, I was deeply impressed by the progress we have made since day one. What began as a vision and a commitment to restore dignity to Mama Jane Araka has steadily transformed into a tangible structure that will soon provide her and the family with a decent place to call home.

As the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation,we remain resolute in seeing this project through to completion. Our deepest appreciation goes to the villagers whose goodwill, labour and unwavering support have continued to propel this initiative forward. Their willingness to roll up their sleeves and work alongside us is a true reflection of the power of community and the spirit of togetherness.

For Mama Jane Araka, this is more than a new house; it is a renewed sense of dignity, security and hope.

DAY 3, ESSY OKENYURI NYAITUGA FOUNDATION SHELTER INITIATIVE IN BOGEKA WARD, KITUTU CHACHE SOUTH.

After carefully puddling the soil, locals in collaboration with the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation team began the painstaking process of filling the walls, firmly packing the prepared mud into the pole framework and ensuring that every section was properly compacted and aligned for uniformity.

To spice it up,roofing was also completed giving the house an added sense of completeness and protection. With the iron sheets now firmly in place and the walls taking shape, the structure is beginning to look and feel like a proper home.

What may appear to be simple mud is in reality the product of skill, patience and collective effort. Layer by layer the walls are rising, transforming a bare structural skeleton into a safe and dignified home. The hands at work are demonstrating that traditional building knowledge when combined with determination and community participation can still deliver meaningful and lasting solutions.

Through the Essy okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation Shelter Initiative, we remain committed to supporting vulnerable families and turning acts of compassion into tangible interventions that improve lives. The walls may be rising slowly but with every layer is a step towards having a habitable place for Jane.

DAY 2, ESSY OKENYURI NYAITUGA FOUNDATION SHELTER INITIATIVE IN BOGEKA WARD, KITUTU CHACHE SOUTH.

The Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation team procured and delivered iron sheets to the home of Mama Jane Araka in Gesoni Village, Bogeka Ward, Kitutu Chache South Constituency, marking another significant milestone in our Shelter initiative.

The transformation is steadily taking shape with the house skeleton already standing tall and the roofing stage now within reach. The ardent efforts of the artisans on the ground coupled with the commitment of our Foundation team and community support continue to turn this vision into a reality.

As the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation fraternity, we truly appreciate the willingness, solidarity and collective effort displayed by the locals by embracing and welcoming our shelter initiative. Their readiness to come together, spend time and lend a helping hand is a reminder that meaningful change is built through shared responsibility.

Our mission is to keep touching lives and families as we look forward to a better Community that doesn't look down upon Widows and the less fortunate.

DAY 1 , ESSY OKENYURI NYAITUGA FOUNDATION SHELTER INITIATIVE IN BOGEKA WARD, KITUTU CHACHE SOUTH CONSTITUENCY.

When we first visited Jane Araka, a widow from Gesoni Village in Bogeka Ward, Kitutu Chache South Constituency, we were confronted by a sad reality that demanded more than words. Her house was in a deplorable condition; the roof leaked whenever it rained and the walls of the structure had weakened and were on the verge of collapsing leaving her without the basic safety, decency and dignity every person deserves.

Through the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation Shelter Initiative, we made a commitment to respond to this need by helping Jane secure a safe and better home. We are glad to report that we have taken the first practical steps towards fulfilling that commitment.

Together with the locals of Gesoni Village, the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation team has in preparatory phase done poles required for the construction, dug the holes required and levelled the ground where Jane's new home will be built. It was a day of collective effort, community spirit and renewed hope.

The work may have begun with poles, digging and levelling but what we are ultimately building is much more than a structure. We are building safety, restoring dignity and transforming the life of a widow who has endured difficult circumstances.

We are grateful to the residents of Gesoni Village for joining hands with us in this noble undertaking. Their participation demonstrates the power of community when we come together to uplift one of our own.

As the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation, we find pleasure in touching the lives of the less fortunate and impacting our community positively for a better tomorrow.

We believe in giving back to the Community as we seek to improve the lives of our people through Charity initiatives as we grow together, because every family deserves a safe place to call home. Every person deserves to live with dignity. Every act of compassion can be the beginning of a new chapter.

We are working around the clock and determined to ensure that by gifting Mama Jane a better house, we shall have left her home a better place than we found it.

It was a deeply humbling and profoundly nostalgic to welcome to Parliament the students and teachers of Kenyenya Junior Comprehensive School of Bokimonge Ward in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency, the very school that laid the foundation for my academic journey and helped mould the values, character and aspirations that continue to guide me today.

As I looked at the young faces before me, I could not help but be transported back to my own days sitting in those same classrooms they sit in today filled with dreams I could not yet fully comprehend. Never then could I have imagined that one day I would sit in chambers welcoming my former school as a Senator of the Republic of Kenya. Truly, life has a beautiful way of rewarding perseverance, faith and dedication.

The energy of the pupils was infectious, their enthusiasm unmistakable and their thirst to learn truly inspiring. They engaged with great curiosity, asked questions on the operation of Parliament and conducted themselves with remarkable discipline and respect throughout their visit. Indeed, this is what Kenyenya Junior represents.

Moments like these reaffirm the mission of the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation; to mentor, inspire and empower young people to unlock their full potential through education, leadership and purposeful engagement. Every interaction with students is an opportunity to nurture ambition, instill confidence and remind them that with hard work, integrity and determination, they can achieve greatness of any level.
