Our board members visited Marura Primary School in Kariobangi, where they spent time with some of the children who are part of ACAKORO's school support programme. It was an opportunity to see firsthand how education remains at the heart of what we do.

For many of our children, football and education go hand in hand. While the game teaches discipline, teamwork, and resilience, the classroom equips them with knowledge and opportunities for the future. We believe every child deserves both.

Meeting the pupils, interacting with teachers, and witnessing the progress being made brought to life the reason this programme exists. Behind every child is a story, a family, and a dream worth investing in.

At ACAKORO, our commitment has never been limited to developing footballers. We are committed to raising confident, educated, and responsible young people who can shape their own future.

Thank you to the staff and pupils of Marura Primary School for welcoming us. Together, we continue to invest in the next generation.

For Jafeth Tsalwa Mzungu, it began on the pitches of ACAKORO Football Academy, where a young boy with a dream found a place to learn, grow, and believe in his ability.

Today, we are proud to announce that Jafeth has officially joined Police FC Rwanda, marking another important chapter in a journey built on hard work, discipline, and patience.
Over the years, Jafeth has continued to take each step with determination—from ACAKORO Football Academy to Rainbow FC, then Shabana FC, followed by Sofapaka FC. Each club became part of his story, helping him grow as both a footballer and a person. Now, that journey takes him beyond Kenya as he begins a new chapter in Rwanda.
Moments like these remind us why ACAKORO exists. Every child who walks through our gates carries a dream. Some dreams take years to unfold, but with commitment, guidance, and opportunity, they become possible.

Jafeth's success belongs to everyone who has been part of his journey—his family, teammates, coaches, supporters, and every person who believed in him when he was still a young boy playing football in Korogocho.

Congratulations, Jafeth. Thank you for carrying the ACAKORO spirit with you wherever football takes you. We wish you every success as you begin this new chapter with Police FC Rwanda.

Your journey continues, and we will always be cheering you on.

Our board members visited the Dandora dumpsite—not as tourists, but to better understand the environment that surrounds many of the children and families connected to ACAKORO Football Academy.

Standing at one of Africa's largest landfill sites is a reminder of the complex realities that many communities live with every day. Beyond the waste are homes, schools, businesses, and people working hard to provide for their families. It is a place where hardship and resilience exist side by side.

For us, this visit was about seeing the context in which many of our young players are growing up. Understanding these realities helps us make better decisions, ask better questions, and remain grounded in the purpose of our work.

Every child deserves the chance to dream beyond the circumstances they were born into. Football alone cannot solve every challenge, but it can open doors, build confidence, create friendships, and remind young people that their future is not defined by where they come from.

Sometimes the most important part of leadership is simply taking the time to see, to listen, and to understand.

Some partnerships are built on paperwork. Others are built on people.

For many years, Stefan Köglberger and Lukas Mott have walked this journey with ACAKORO—not from a distance, but by taking time to understand the realities, challenges, and dreams of the children and families who call Korogocho and Kariobangi home.

This week was another reminder of what ACAKORO stands for. Conversations around football were accompanied by conversations about education, opportunity, responsibility, and the future of the young people in our community. Their guidance continues to help shape decisions both on and off the pitch.

The name ACAKORO means Austrian Children And KOrogocho. It reflects a friendship that has grown between two communities separated by thousands of kilometres but connected by a common belief: that every child deserves a chance to dream and the support to pursue those dreams.

As they walked through our streets, met our players, spoke with coaches, and listened to the stories behind the academy, they were reminded that ACAKORO has always been about people first. Football simply brought us together.

Thank you, Stefan and Lukas, for your time, your presence, and for continuing to walk this journey with us.

To understand our players, you must first understand their journey.

Members of our board walked through the streets of Korogocho, experiencing firsthand the environment that shapes the lives, dreams, and ambitions of the young people we serve. They saw the challenges, but more importantly, they saw the strength, creativity, resilience, and sense of community that make this place home.

Every narrow street tells a story. Every child playing football carries a dream. Every family represents hope for a better tomorrow.

This visit was a reminder that our work is not only about developing footballers—it is about creating opportunities, building confidence, and investing in the future of a community rich in potential.

Our Board and Coaching Team came together for a strategic meeting to review our operations, evaluate our progress, and chart the next phase of growth for Acakoro Football Academy. From player development and welfare to training programs, competitions, partnerships, and long-term sustainability, every discussion was guided by one goal: creating the best possible environment for our young athletes to thrive.

Great teams are built on the pitch, but successful academies are built through vision, collaboration, and commitment behind the scenes.

Together, we continue to invest in the future of our players, our academy, and our community.

As the world turns its attention to the FIFA World Cup, we at Acakoro Football Academy proudly stand with Austria and wish the Austrian national team success in their World Cup journey.

Austria is more than just a country participating in the tournament for us. Through the support and partnership we have received over the years, Austria has played a meaningful role in helping young footballers at Acakoro chase their dreams, build confidence, and grow both on and off the pitch. The impact of that support can be seen every day in the smiles, determination, and progress of the children in our academy.

The World Cup reminds us why football is called the beautiful game. It brings together people from different races, cultures, languages, and backgrounds in a way few things can. Here in our community, children gather to watch matches with excitement, parents discuss results, and even grandparents share stories of great players and memorable tournaments. For a few weeks, the world speaks one language—football.

Football teaches teamwork, respect, discipline, and hope. It creates friendships across borders and reminds us that despite our differences, we all share the same passion for the game.

As Austria represents its people on football's biggest stage, know that you have supporters thousands of kilometres away cheering you on. From the players, coaches, families, and friends of Acakoro Football Academy, we thank you for your continued support and wish Austria every success in the FIFA World Cup.

Together through football. Together through friendship. Together through shared dreams.

A team photo often captures more than the players standing in it.

These are Acakoro's Under-9 and Under-12 teams, a group of young boys and girls growing together through football, friendship, and learning. Every child in this picture has a unique story, but they share a common passion for the game and a determination to build a better future.

Week after week, they come to training ready to learn, support one another, and improve both on and off the pitch. For many of them, the academy provides not only football coaching but also a sense of belonging, guidance, and encouragement.

As these young players line up for a team photograph, they represent more than a football squad. They represent the power of opportunity, the importance of community, and the impact that investing in young people can have for years to come.

Some of the most important victories at Acakoro never appear on the scoreboard.

They are seen in the child who stays in school because they know they have training after class. They are seen in the young person who learns to work as part of a team, respect others, and believe in their own abilities. They are seen in the confidence that grows when a child realizes that their future can be bigger than their circumstances.

Every week, Acakoro provides more than football training. It creates opportunities for children to learn, grow, and develop the skills they need for life.

For donors and partners looking to create lasting impact, supporting Acakoro means investing in a model that combines sport, education, mentorship, and community development. It is an investment that reaches far beyond the pitch and continues to shape lives for years to come.

Together, we can help ensure that talent is never limited by where a child is born.

At Acakoro, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and dream — both on and off the football field.

Located in the heart of Korogocho, the academy uses football as a tool to keep children in school, build confidence, teach discipline, and create a sense of purpose. Here, young players are not only trained to become better athletes, but also supported to become responsible and hopeful young leaders in their communities.

For many of these children, we are more than an academy. It is a safe space, a family, and a place where they are seen, encouraged, and given the chance to believe in a brighter future.

With the support of donors and partners, the academy continues to provide mentorship, education support, meals, football equipment, and life-changing opportunities to children who need them most.

When you invest in Acakoro, you are not only supporting football — you are investing in human potential, education, and long-term community impact.
