Hello, October!

October reminds us that strong communities begin with people, people given a chance to learn, work, create, dream and build better lives for themselves and their families.

As we mark Economic & Community Development Month, we celebrate the entrepreneurs, farmers, young people, families and everyday changemakers who keep our communities moving forward.

At the Rotary Club of Syokimau, we believe that when we create opportunities for one another, we create a future where everyone has a chance to thrive.

Cheers to opportunity, dignity, empowerment and communities that grow together.

Create Lasting Impact.

5:30 A.M. AND WE WERE OFF! 🚐🌫️

A Rotary road trip to North Kinangop🚎 the kind you DON’T want to miss! Away from the office, into the fog… literally! 😂

Rotarian Nzisa: “ZERO VISIBILITY!” 🌫️😂

But we made it! And together with our partner Rotarians from District 2090 , The Rotary Club of Ancona Canero and Rotary Club of Montenagro in Italy we commissioned dental equipment expected to serve 300+ patients a month from Nyandarua,Nakuru counties and beyond. 🦷❤️
And finally our project sign off …..TREES PLANTED because by planting for the future, lasting impact should keep growing.

Then came Nyakio Meat Joint, courtesy of Past AG Tharao 😂

From “Nipe soup!” , “Leta kachoma “to “Nipe boiled meat!” the orders were flying! 🍲🥩 what a sumptuous meal we had .

A day of service, laughter, trees, beautiful memories ,VERY good meat.
Indeed Rotary is fun.

We came. We served. We made friendships . We planted. We ate. We touched lives and left fulfilled hearts.

On 21 September 2026, we proudly celebrated the commissioning of a new Dental Facility at Kinangop Catholic Hospital a meaningful milestone in our shared commitment to healthier and stronger communities.
This incredible project was made possible through a Rotary Global Grant, bringing together the spirit of service and collaboration of the Rotary Club of Ancona, Rotary Club of Montenegro, and Rotary Club of Syokimau.
The new facility will help expand access to essential dental and oral healthcare services for the people of Kinangop and surrounding communities ,creating greater opportunities for healthier smiles and healthier lives.
This is what happens when passion meets partnership, and service meets purpose.
To everyone who contributed their time, resources, expertise, and unwavering support, thank you!
Today, we celebrate more than a building.
We celebrate hope.
We celebrate partnership.
We celebrate service.
And most importantly, we celebrate the communities we have the privilege to serve.
Together, we are creating lasting impact
one smile at a time.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to dream, and to believe in what is possible.

This month, we shine a light on the realities facing our schools and learners, and create space for honest conversations, shared experiences, and meaningful solutions.

Join the us for Teaching Against the Odds — an evening to listen, learn and understand the challenges facing our children , guided by the experience of Mrs. Rosemary Radina of St. Augustine’s Mlolongo Secondary School.

Because when we invest in education, we invest in brighter tomorrows.
Together, let’s create lasting impact ;one learner, one classroom, one opportunity at a time.
