Strengthening Community Voices Against Human Trafficking 🤝🏽

Awoche Foundation, in partnership with HAART Kenya,brought together Community Health Promoters (CHPs), the Chief, youth leaders , the children officer was also represented  and other community leaders for an engaging and insightful community dialogue on human trafficking.

The session provided a safe space for different community stakeholders to come together, share experiences, discuss the realities and forms of human trafficking within our communities, and explore practical ways to identify, prevent, and respond to trafficking. Through open conversations and shared experiences, participants were able to gain new insights, challenge misconceptions, and better understand the important role that communities play in protecting vulnerable individuals.

It was a fruitful discussion that highlighted the power of collaboration, awareness, and community action in addressing human trafficking. We are grateful to HAART Kenya for partnering with us in creating these important conversations and to all the community respondents who shared their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives.

Together, we can build safer and more informed communities where everyone is empowered to recognize the signs of trafficking, speak up, and take action.

The session created awareness around child trafficking, equipped children, especially girls;with knowledge on how to identify unsafe situations, stay safe, speak up, and seek help.
