Branch joined other stakeholders in commemorating International Youth Day at Tononoka Social Hall.

The celebration was a vibrant space for young people to connect, share ideas and highlight the opportunities that can help them shape their futures.

Through its ongoing work, YWCA Mombasa continues to empower young entrepreneurs to turn their skills and ideas into sustainable livelihoods.

To celebrate 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲, Branch brought young people together for a vibrant day of talent, dialogue and meaningful youth participation.

Through 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐢, a YWCA Kisumu initiative that empowers young people to harness their skills and talents, young people showcased their talents, shared experiences and explored opportunities to put their skills into action.

The celebration, graced by Mr. George Orude, Director for Sports, Culture, Gender and Youth Affairs, also provided an opportunity for young people to share their priorities for the National and County Youth Policies.

From talent to policy, from ideas to action, young people are making their voices count.✨

In anticipation of 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 on 12 August, youth and stakeholders gathered yesterday in Seme-Kombewa, Kisumu County, for the County Youth Celebrations.

As a partner contributing to youth skills development in the County, 𝐘𝐖𝐂𝐀 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚, 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐮 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for its contribution to youth skills development, including its efforts to equip young people with skills, create opportunities for participation and contribute to their personal and community development.

YWCA also took lead in a breakout discussion on advocacy, leadership and the proposed County Youth Policy.

The event was graced by Kisumu County Commissioner Ramadhan Mwabudzo and Ms. Beatrice Odongo, County CEC Member for Sports, Culture, Gender and Youth, alongside other county officials and stakeholders.

As we mark International Youth Day, YWCA Kenya continues to champion spaces where young people can speak up, participate in decision-making and influence policies that affect their lives and communities.✨

A historic milestone was achieved during the 2026 Branch AGM with the election of a young woman with disability to represent members under 30.🎉 The newly elected leadership reflects the Branch's commitment to inclusion and ensuring that every voice has a place in decision-making.

The AGM also provided an opportunity for members to reflect on the Branch's progress, elect new office bearers, and honour the outgoing Branch Board for its exemplary service and dedication over the past four years.

Leadership in action at Branch! ✨

The AGM in YWCA Kenya, Meru Branch on Saturday celebrated the strength of women in leadership as young women confidently stepped forward to vie for leadership positions, demonstrating courage and a strong commitment to the vision of YWCA Kenya.

The outgoing Board of the Branch also pledged to mentor and support the incoming leadership, ensuring continuity and a lasting legacy of impactful leadership.
