Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) is the national Guiding Organization of Kenya. Founded in 1920, the girls-only organization became a full member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1963. The patron is First Lady of The Republic of Kenya, Rachel Ruto. This is a group for girls and young women and all friends and partners of guiding to network, volunteer and support the guiding movement in Kenya.

The County Guide Commissioners Conference was successfully held at KGGA Headquarters, bringing together County leaders for two days of reflection, strategy, and strengthening our Movement.

From reviewing 2025 achievements and governance structures to deep dives into the Core Guiding Programme, operational planning, finance, volunteerism, and personal development, the conference provided a powerful platform for alignment and growth.

Led by the Chief Commissioner, National Executive Officer, Board representatives, and Secretariat team, County Commissioners engaged in meaningful discussions, planning sessions, and key resolutions to strengthen Guiding at all levels.

Together, we are building stronger counties, empowered leaders, and a vibrant future for Guiding.

The Kenya Girl Guides Association successfully held its Annual General Meeting 2026 on Saturday, 25th April 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Residence, Nairobi Arboretum.

The meeting brought together members and leaders for a day of reflection, accountability, and strategic direction. Key highlights included the presentation of the 2025 Annual Report and audited accounts, ratification of National Council members, and the election and presentation of Office Bearers who will steer the Association forward.

We thank all members and stakeholders who participated and contributed to the success of the AGM. Together, we continue strengthening leadership and advancing the mission of Guiding in Kenya.

From Kenya to Ghana 🇰🇪🤝🏾🇬🇭

The Kenya Girl Guides Association (KGGA) member, Dr. Diana Njuguna, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana Girl Guides Association and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) Kusafiri Centre in Accra.
During the visit, she was warmly received by the Chief Commissioner Janet Adu-Gyamfi and the International Commissioner, Sylvia Nicole, and engaged in insightful discussions on advancing the mission of Guiding and empowering girls and young women across our regions. The visit also included a tour of the Kusafiri Centre, highlighting its role as a hub for leadership, learning, and collaboration within Africa.
The warm reception served as a powerful reminder of our shared values and enduring bond as Guides. This interaction reinforces our collective commitment to continue the impactful work we do in shaping confident, responsible, and empowered young women.
Together, we continue to build bridges, strengthen partnerships, and carry forward the spirit of Guiding across the world.

The Chief Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners, accompanied by our Young Leader representative, joined the family of the late Prof. Faith Nguru for the unveiling of the cross and the dedication of the Memorial Library and Tuition Block at Betty Academy, Embu, on Saturday, 4th April 2026.
It was a solemn and meaningful occasion to honor Prof. Nguru’s legacy and her lasting contribution to education and community development.

We were honored to host a courtesy call from distinguished leaders of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI), a global nonprofit organization committed to advancing women’s leadership and strengthening communities.

The visit was led by AJLI President Alice Glenn and CEO Melanie Schild, accompanied by Kenya Charter President Marianne Mwaniki and President-Elect Dolly Sagwe. Representing KGGA were Chief Commissioner Rose Kioko, Alice Waweru – Chair of the Trefoil Guild, and Betty Oloo – National Executive Officer.
