The Kenya Copyright Board has issued a public notice clarifying the licensing and collection framework for Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) for the 2025–2026 period.

Key highlights:
✔️ KAMP and PAVRISK have been officially licensed for one year effective 5th November 2025
✔️ Both CMOs are operating under defined conditions to ensure transparency and accountability
✔️ A consent agreement allows structured collection across sectors, including new media, public service vehicles, general licensing, and broadcast
✔️ Systems are in place to ensure artists receive at least 70% of collected royalties

This clarification reinforces the commitment to protecting creators’ rights and improving royalty distribution in Kenya.
