Translation helps us understand one another, even when we communicate in different ways.

It goes beyond words, allowing stories, information, and ideas to reach people in ways they can understand and use. It gives people space to learn, express themselves, share, and participate.

On International Translation Day, we recognize the power of translation to bring people and cultures closer together.
When we understand one another, we communicate better and relate better.

Information can change a life.

At Christian Mission Aid (CMA), we believe lasting change is not only about providing resources but also about equipping people with knowledge and skills that enable them to learn, grow, make informed choices, and shape their future.

This is reflected in our education and literacy programmes, health and hygiene initiatives, teacher and pastor training, and sports outreach, which provide practical support and create opportunities for personal and community development.

On this International Day for Universal Access to Information, we recognise that information should be accessible to everyone. Access to reliable information enables people to understand their rights, navigate opportunities, respond to challenges, and take an active role in decisions that affect their lives.

Where there were few desks, students had to manage with what was available — sharing limited space and finding ways to learn despite the challenge.
Today, students have a desk of their own — somewhere to open a book, put pen to paper, discover new ideas, and focus on the lessons before them.

But this is about more than furniture.
A desk gives a child somewhere to write.
A better learning environment gives them the freedom to concentrate.
And being considered reminds them that their education matters — and that their potential is worth investing in.

CMA in partnership with Saruni International provided desks not only to address a shortage, but also to create a better environment where students can learn, participate, and grow in confidence.
Sometimes, you do not have to change the whole world to change how a child sees theirs. You simply have to give them a place to begin.

*Every person has something to say. Every story deserves to be heard.*

Communication is not limited to spoken words. Through sign languages, people share their thoughts, express their emotions, tell their stories, learn, connect, and build meaningful relationships.
Today, we celebrate the beauty and richness of sign languages and the Deaf community. We are reminded that understanding begins when we are willing to meet one another where we are and listen in the language that speaks to the heart, creating spaces where everyone feels valued, included, and free to communicate.

Let us continue learning, listening, and embracing different ways of connecting with one another.

Peace begins with understanding one another, living in harmony, and a willingness to reconcile.

At CMA, we believe that building peace starts with equipping communities to live in unity and respect one another. Bringing people together from Marakwet and Pokot, CMA has conducted peace and reconciliation training for pastors, county government officials, and church leaders, strengthening their ability to promote peace within their communities.

May we choose unity over division, dialogue over conflict, and peace over resentment. May our actions restore relationships and strengthen communities.
Because peace is not just something we hope for—it is something we build together.
